I have some great contacts in San Diego...I have some good contacts in San Diego...I have some decent contacts from San Diego...

One of my "good" contacts said that Dillon Baxter to SDSU is basically a done deal, just pending on his grades transfering from U$C. This process is going on right now.

Dillon Baxter to the Aztecs for the start of Big East play in 2013 should be announced within a couple of weeks (if all is ok with grades).
Congrats. I really hope he works out better than the 5 star transfer RB we got from USC. I am still waiting for DJ Shoemate to make his impact at UCONN. UCONN picked up 3 former 4 star transfers this off season and I just hope at least 2 of them will work out.
I wonder if SDSU joining the Big East convinced him to transfer?

Congrats ... and may you get many more.

I know he was very close to Brady Hoke and Rocky Long out of High School, so we did have a little history with him.

But I really see this as a sign that the Aztecs are starting fast with their new found AQ status in the recruiting game in SoCal.

We are also in the running for U$C WR Brice Butler. He would come in next year and only play one season.
Not sold on Baxter. He's a talent, no doubt, but all the reasons he didn't work out at SC (headcase?) aren't necessarily going to just magically go away at SDSU. Hope I'm wrong if he does end up on the Mesa.
Hope he turns out to be a great RB for the Techs! SDSU needs to keep that high caliber rushing attack going.

The Aztecs are actually very deep at RB. You Broncos should know as our 3rd string back burned you for a 90 yard TD run. A "good" Dillon Baxter would still be a welcome addition.
Looks like joining the Big East is already paying dividends. 04-cheers
Southern Cal is running guys off because of its recruiting restrictions (15 per year, 75 total) due to cheating.

They are running off DL Armon Armstead as well. That is hopefully good news for the Irish as he mentions them as a possible transfer landing spot and ND is in the top three for his younger brother, 4 star (and 4th best rated linemen) Arik Armstead .

Lane Kiffin is doing all that he can to cut players so he can still recruit.

Baxter was obviously a very highly rated recruit and would be a very good pickup by the Aztecs.
USC (known for years as RB U) must have the record for RB transfers...because while they sign a lot (and usually some of the best), those that don't make it seem to transfer at a very high rate.
As a USC season ticket holder I can tell you Baxter is a talent. Had some off the field issues (pregnant girlfriend) that gave Kiffin an excuse to get rid of him. Congrats to SDSU. You picked up a good one.

I have a home in Orange County. I used to live in Huntington Beach. Season tickets are part of a compensation for working for a SoCal company with a USC booster for a President. I usually make two or three games a season.

Agreed!
I'm hearing this is a done deal. He's enrolled @ SDSU.
He may wish he'd stayed at USC. BEast defenses are a lot tougher than Pac defenses, especially against the run...

Not many Big East teams are built to run the ball like we are.
WVU ran the ball as well as anyone in the nation when RR was here. Pitt, Rutgers, UC, and UConn haven't been too shabby in the running game either. I guess you missed that on the west coast...

SDSU will show BEast teams nothing they haven't seen already...

How long has RR been gone now?

SDSU averaged 185/game at just under five yards a clip. Boise and TCU had some awesome defenses. I guess you missed that on the east coast...

The BE will show SDSU nothing they haven't seen already...
