I trust you are being facetious or sarcastic, but just in case anyone doesn't remember, records by year during the 80s were: 5-6, 4-7, 0-11, 1-10, 1-10, 3-8, 4-7, 2-9, 0-11, 2-8-1. total 22-87-1.

By comparison, the 70s were a veritable powerhouse: 5-5, 2-8-1, 5-5-1, 5-6, 2-8-1, 2-9, 3-8, 1-10, 2-9, 1-10, total 28-78-3, with 3 seasons equal to or better than the best record of the 1980s.

So, for two decades, Rice's cumulative football record was 50-165-4, and average of 2.5 wins per year.

And the vast majority of those teams would very likely have blown this year's team out.

those teams were horrific, but they weren't playing the southeast vermont tech university at Montpelier. There was some real awfulness, but.....
