If keeping CLF is a bidding war UC won't ever win. But that shouldn't stop them from making sure he is compensated at least somewhat commensurate with his success. UC should bump him now.

A coach making $3.4M being offered $6M might feel its worth the risk of taking on a new job while a coach making $5M might not take the risk.
