Depends on the sport. Mack Brown is doing just fine. Dave Leitao...

Mack Brown might be one of the exceptions. With that said, it's not like he's knocked it out of the park yet either. UNC nearly made the CFB playoffs a few years ago. The Tar Heels have been good under Brown but certainly nothing I haven't seen in Chapel Hill under other coaches.

John Robinson and Johnny Majors never could duplicate their first go around at USC and Pitt respectively.

I'm trying to think of a coach who had a clearly better second go around? Or even one that equaled the first? Bobby Wallace is a name that comes to mind. Otherwise?

The three opt-outs definitely put a damper on the Orange Bowl. It is a mighty feat to accomplish what he did before, but he seems on the path. He’s definitely not doing worse.
