Don't underestimate the significance of The Cox Bill in any decision that would have to be made. JMU is living well right now as an athletic department with the extra funds they are allowed to derive from student fees compared to what that would look like if they moved up to FBS. My guess is that anyone running an athletic department would have some serious heartburn about making a move that would significantly decrease athletic department funding while significantly increasing the amount of funding that would be needed to compete at the FBS level.
