I have that game on VHS tape and little did I know at the time what a huge impact it would have on how College Football is structured today. In 1983 the NCAA owned exclusive rights to college football and determined who was shown. USC & UGA had a big game that week, but the NCAA owed the SoCon a regional telecast and opted for the App- Citadel game. Lawsuits for breaking up the NCAA's monopoly were filed in the following weeks and as Paul Harvey would say... Now you know the rest of the story...
