RE: Good Grief - This Idiocy at WMU Too?
God some of you guys are messed up. It's so arrogant to think the university should just constantly cater to Grand Rapids boomers. How many orientation leader jobs should they reserve for white kids? What's the minimum acceptable percentage of white kids to be in a photo posted by the university? Real diversity in terms of race and class is something I think WMU does admirably well. Compared to a school like Michigan, I've always thought Western can really make a claim that it offers educational opportunity to a wide variety of people.

If the demographic is too brown, just go support GVSU. Or you could probably even find a whiter campus! Maybe Hope! Or Calvin!

Also, the progress of this thread is pretty interesting. We started at "Black girl speaking out against mostly white audience singing black spirituals is ridiculous and bad and a sign of 'this idiocy' coming to WMU." Now we've arrived at what is perhaps the logical conclusion or the root of the thinking that started the thread in the first place: "There's just too many brown people here!"
