Not advocating just stating what I thought was going to happen. It would have been interesting to see if Bobby had not resigned what would have happened. I was fine either way. We are now in for a 4/5 year rebuild process. Plus the $ value just went up. lets see how serious ODAF / ODU really is about football.

I'm not getting this 4-5 year rebuilding process ..... I'm looking at Charlotte's first year coach going 7-5 and heading to a bowl game. I'm not looking for a national championship, but I'd expect immediate improvement with respect to being competitive and starting to be 'bowl eligible' (which is not that hard) in 2-3 years -- don't think that is asking too much with an FBS capable coaching staff. Also, I don't think that it is only $$$ -- that is a part, but I don't think BW would have been any different results wise if he was paid $2M/year.

UNCC had been recruiting at a decent level and had a stable of decent talent. The talent we have will be gone. it will take at least 2 to 3 recruiting classes to get competitive again.

Hasn't their recruiting rankings been essentially what ours have been over the past 3-4 years?

Charlotte had 12 returning players, but more importantly KEY returning players at important positions.
