Miami's location makes them very unique, but they don't have the money to 'make a come back.'

FSU has a bigger booster base, but I am not certain they have the means either.

Every year that goes by, these schools with great locations but lesser means than SEC schools (getting $20 or so million a year more from their conference and bigger booster bases) make it less likely they can come back.

That is the reality. The ACC will likely never admit that reality (which makes things worse because you can't mitigate for issues when you don't admit they are there).

Compare and contrast with Nebraska. The Cornhuskers get a hefty Big 10 paycheck, and I would bet heavily they'll never be close to what they once were

Miami has a winning history and they are in rich recruiting territory. They have a better chance to come back then a lot of schools do

Fantastic comparison. Nail meet EvilVodka -- he just hammered you.

04-cheers

Due to geography and population dynamics, Nebraska is basically Iowa now. They'll have the occasional 10-2 season, but they will have to endure a lot of 7-5/8-4 and even the occasional sub .500 seasons in between. They'll never be the program they were under Bob Devaney or Tom Osbourne.

I disagree. I disagree with everyone who thinks these teams cant get it back together at a championship level. You get the right coach in there, and it could change very quickly for Nebraska. Scott Frost seems to be the right coach. He went back home to mamma and is in his second year there. Look what he did at UCF in year 2. I wouldn't want my team playing his team in year 2.
