If this Birmingham city councilman intends to torpedo a potential AAC invite in the future, this is the way to do it. What is he thinking? Why does the city council need to "resolve" for UAB to potentially switch conferences? Some politicians think they have a level of authority in everything and that people with actual power in those areas actually care what they think. The comment from UAB's AD reminds me of when a parent starts publicly promoting their kid for something and the kid has the maturity to walk it back.
