You're right, and the last elected POTUS proved that beyond a doubt by losing the popular vote by such a margin and still winning the presidency. We are a republic at the federal level. So substitute my use of "democracy" with republic and take a stab at answering.
To answer your question. I've always wondered why fly by's, parachuting in, etc are done before sporting events. I don't agree with it, we can sing the anthem, thank our armed forces, without having to see hardware.
My pops was a WWII vet and he never agreed with it either, seemed extremist to him.
Because it’s cool and it screams America, I don’t know about the tanks thing tho. Where are the inhumane concentration camps? And are they refugees or apprehended illegal aliens? Aliens that want to come into our very “average” country according to the NYT and most of the left. If anyone can name a better country I’d like to know.
Depends what you want in a country. If you are well off (i.e. the minority) and can afford to truly partake in the grand wealth the country as a whole has accumulated it's great. But if you're among the poor to average group.. lots of better places to be.
You’re joking right? No other country has the freedom, opportunity, and economic success that America has. Why are there so many illegals trying to pour into the US if it’s so mediocre? Not many other places in the world can you start from the bottom and work your way to the top. Please don’t come back with Nordic countries as an example as we basically fund their entire defense budgets. Just remember who had to bail the world out when nazi Germany started to overtake, not the UK, not France, not Sweden, not Canada. USA
Gimme a break dude, that "opportunity" is a myth these days, upward mobility is incredibly rare in the US and its designed that way.
Its great and all that we have military might but that has nothing to do with the conversation about everyday standard of living, it isn't mutually exclusive.
Keep talking about this **** from your sheltered suburban Chicago upbringing, it's funny to watch your lack of perspective in every post.
