We are in CUSA because the frenzy of realignment had no end in sight, and CUSA wanted to stock up to protect itself against "poaching".

We got "lucky" because the very influential ECU AD, Terry Holland, made a case for us as a travel partner for ECU, and a top 50 television market.

There was no "making a bid" for the MAC, although as I understand it, Wood called virtually every conference in America in order to assess possibilities when VCU left the CAA. They all were not interested.
