RE: OT - My upcoming RV Adventures Travel Log
My wife has a friend we are visiting this weekend. Her mother and step dad have a motor home and have been doing these trips for years. Leaving in 2 weeks for Idaho. He said he doesn’t count visiting a state unless he spends the night there and has spent the night in 47 of 48 continental states. Checking # 48 off the list. He is big into photography and did one 15-20 years ago along Route 66 that actually had his pics used in a photo book. He’s got the life. Restored farm house on 10 acres that is basically surrounded by a 1000+ acre cattle ranch. Nobody around. Retired. Lake house in a quiet cove off a cove. Hes built a deck on it with a tin roof and decor that makes you feel like you’re in an beachside tiki bar. And again, nobody around. He says his philosophy on retirement is “when I get tired of piddling around the house, I go to the lake. When I get tired of relaxing there, we hop in the motorhome and go somewhere for a few weeks”

Life goals for me and the wife
