I am relieved to read this. Most Democrats do not agree with you. In an April 2025 poll, 55% of self-identified left-of-center respondents said that murdering Trump was at least somewhat justified. The actual figure is likely higher, as some may hesitate to openly express a desire to kill.

Dem's bear some responsibility for the targeting of people they disagree with through their justification of political violence and inflammatory rhetoric. When Dem's, especially those in prominent positions, say things like "Trump is Hitler," call his voters fascists, or claim the very foundation of our country is under threat, it spurs impressionable people to take up arms to eliminate a perceived tyrant. This must stop. Because I do not believe in censorship except for direct threats of violence, I think it is the responsibility of Democrats to tone down their rhetoric. Dem's should explicitly condemn political violence and support policies to prevent it. Otherwise, more killings are almost certain to follow.

I would never advocate for the murder of trump. That'd be much too easy a fate for him, not to mention make him another sad excuse for a martyr of the right. Living out the rest of his life in a jail cell would be the way I'd like to see him go.

But if you don't think trump himself...as well as firebrands like Kirk...contribute their share of inflammatory rhetoric, I have to question your judgement.
