I recall that SD State wanted to stay (at least Sterk did) even after Boise decided it wouldn't stay. Then when the estimated TV $ came out, it wouldn't work financially so they went back to the MWC.

That would add probably $500,000 onto every schools travel budget line item...not happening.

IF it was football only and IF we added three western teams (which would help limit travel) then I dont think it would be overly expensive but as much as I love SDSU and think they have amazing potential, I dont see it happening either.

For travel, expense, geographic fit and a host of other reasons... Air Force or maybe CSU would be the best western partner... and if we go east, Army is the only real choice.

Yes, but those IFs were not part of the post I was replying to. Football only would still be around $200,000 when factoring in the shipping of all equipment and travel/lodging for 120 people across the country. Honestly though, I would want to add SDSU in for basketball too...they are a genuinely good basketball product, and that would completely delegitimize the MWC in that sport if they left.

WIth every NCAA tourney win being worth around $1.7 million to the conference, it may be worth it if SDSU was able to make the tourney every year.
Its why I didnt mind adding WSU and its also a reason why CSU might not be a bad addition. They used to have solid Bball and a move to the AAC could help.
