Article: New AAC TV deal provides more money to ECU, but also challenges

So we're basically shelling out $300k but getting a $5 million bump every year. Also about a $1 million one time cost to upgrade the broadcast booth. I'll take it.

So, it's not $2M per year to produce ESPN+ games? Color me shocked!

Somebody should look up all the old posts and ban everybody who said that.

Oh I'm sure the realignment board still believes that's true.

The clueless MW fanboy keyboard warriors on the Mountain West board are absolutely certain of it.

Some folks don't seem to understand time value, inflation, economics... CUSA admin talking about production costs is the same way...even though schools are already producing for ESPN3. Where do folks think this is headed? Eventually, EVERYONE will be producing games. Might as well get paid to upgrade infrastructure and work out kinks now vs. playing catch up and spending more later.

I will say the Big 12 putting games on ESPN+ will help for a better fan experience. Their bigger fanbases will not only drive more subscriptions, but will force ESPN to fix glitches faster for a better product.
