good god from gulfport.....
Yes they did but apparently you need some tutoring because your understanding of socialism is stuck in the Cold War.
Sorry. The Cold War isn't adequate cover for a political system that has failed miserably everywhere it has been employed. Just because the apparency of the cold war is over does not mean the efficacy of the cold war has diminished. There are still hundreds of nukes with your and my name on them.
All socialism is, and ever has been, is an excuse to put vital commodities in the hands of a few at the expense of the many.
You're probably too young to remember but the biggest issue that visiting Soviets had to be debriefed about was the average American grocery. Their propaganda had them believing that capitalism limited food resources to the middle class and poor. When they returned to the Soviet Union the party spent time with them making sure they understood they couldn't talk about the American Piggly Wiggly experience.
People should pay to read your posts. You don't know how many times I think, oh yeah, I remember reading that years ago.
Amazing. Lol. It's amazing how much can be forgotten
Don’t confuse socialism and communism. Oops you already did. Communism is a political system. Socialism is an economic system.
Socialism and communism--and fascism--are all both political and economic systems. All require the political muscle of the state to enforce their collectivist economic principles, which require people to act other than in their own best interests.
Market capitalism is based on the assumption that people will act in their own best interests. They don't always--people can be pretty irrational--but they do often enough that capitalism works better than the others.
