Tell me about it. I am housing my mother-in-law for the foreseeable furture because no way SS covers her living expenses (however minimal) and her other investments we need to sock away to take care of the inevitable sickness/end-of-life concerns.

On the flip side, my baby sitter expenses have gone to zero. 03-lmfao

We had chosen not to go the nursing home route but had to consider it as my mother-in-law's health declined.

We assumed her $1,500 / month SS check would be nowhere close to covering the cost of a facility. And we were right.

They required her SS benefits be directed to then and then they wanted part of the estate.

Well, there was no estate. Zip. Nil. Nadda. Zilch. Zero.

She continued living with us until she passed away.
