Doubtful, but one thing is for certain.....he wouldn't have allowed the FBI to get in the shape it's currently in. While he was the ultimate political animal he would have never allowed his baby to be overtaken by the political establishment like it currently is.

J. Edgar, for all his major faults, was not beholden to any politician and believed in the sanctity of an FBI being independent from political pandering.

And sadly the swamp creatures moved quickly to ensure that nobody ever had the ability to do so again when he was finally out of the way.

that's debatable as it's playing out today.........not sure how this political arm for one side isn't any different or worse....

IMO, it actually made him the King if 'either or any' didn't agree with his ideology......
