Congratulations to Monty!
Let's be honest, you can trace the performance of EMU basketball to that of Monty. He was great early in the year, pre-covid. Then he became a shell of himself, and EMU languished as well. He is a very good ballplayer; we saw what he could be.
Very true.
I'm just curious. Were all the players double-vaxxed?
I'm trying to overlay phases of Covid and two NCAA MBB seasons (I'm ignoring 2019/20 because it ended the season a month, i.e., the tourneys early).
In 2020/21 basically athletes were not vaccinated as they were not in the highest risk groups. Some teams got clobbered as Covid spread through them
Fast forward to 2021/22. We were exiting the Delta wave and about to hit the Omicron wave. By then EVERYONE should have been double vaxxed.
Did people who were double vaxxed have long lasting systems from Omicron? Were these actually cases from Delta which were more severe?
I don't, in hindsight, know or was really aware, but if I were an AD I'd indicated double vaxx to play. Those who opt not to get vaxxed but just test, are playing Russian Roulette, just hoping the next severe case isn't them.
In my case, I'm double vaxxed with Pfizer and boosted (late Sept). I debated hard getting a 2nd booster even if only confers many antibodies for say a month. That month would have been perfect for me. I was hoping to wait until fall for a booster with Omicron-specific protection.
I was a little leary of 4 shots in say 12 months (02/21, 03/21, 09/21 and say 02/22).
