Talented players just are not going to stay in our league any more, beyond about 2 years. Such a shame

CAA, and most other mids are the P5 farm system. This is the future if allowing zero penalty transfers becomes the norm.

This is correct. And it sucks.

It does suck when players transfer out, but I also think players should do what is best for themselves. We don't know everyone's situation, or what is driving them to transfer. Plenty of non-athlete undergrad students transfer for whatever reason, I don't see the need to force players to sit out for their first transfer.

How worried should we be about CofC? Feels like very?

RE: CAA MBB Transfers 2021
I'm worried about CoC, they knocked it out of the park by hiring Pat Kelsey. He had one losing season at Winthrop - his very first year. Since then they're been one of the top mid major teams, five 20+ win seasons and three NCAA tournament births in 8 years (counting 2020, they won their conference tournament before Covid). CoC has a better location, better facilities, and more money than Winthrop, and he's already very familiar with the area.

Short term? Not at all. If their seniors leave they're losing 8 out of their top 9 guys from last year. They're in full rebuild mode and won't matter this year and probably next.

Long term? A lot, like Hofstra and Northeastern. They all have more resources, more recent success, more prominent coaches, and generally more appealing locations. We'll have to pull some rabbits out of hats to have sustained success in comparison.

Coach Howland and Kaiden Rice (who is listed at 6’7) are now following each other.

https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/pla...ice-1.html

Found a highlight video for Kaiden Rice

https://mobile.twitter.com/AnthonyJazz/s...4537857027

@AnthonyJazz tweets:

“Kaiden Rice would be a game changer for Duquesne. 17.6 ppg, 35% 3pt, 88% FT. Catch and shoot or off dribble, dude can pop from anywhere - one of the quickest shooters you'll find. Added a nice dribble-drive game last year - better assist man, better finisher around the rim.”

Scratch out Duquesne and replace with WM, of course.
