Does suspend means cancelled or postponed? If the season is over that means we convey our draft pick because we finished 8th in the west.

Postponed. I think there are three possible scenarios:
1. After few weeks resume with the 19 regular season games left and the playoffs
2. Shorter schedule and immediate playoffs
3. Straight to the playoffs (I doubt this but possibility)

I think it's most likely option 2.
Grizz make the playoffs, convey the pick, and likely get whooped by the Lake Show.

Probably option 1 in a compressed few weeks or option 2. Good news is it'll give our guys enough time to heal from injury.

2nd options sounds about right because arenas have venue obligations if we extend this season beyond a month or more than normal

The nba has already told teams to have their venues schedules available until early August.

I agree on option 2. The safest thing to do is shut it down and play the playoffs on a as needed personnel basis only.
Maybe 1st round best of 3, 2nd round best of 5, conference championship best of 7, Finals best of 7.

I know Silver did an interview with Inside the NBA... Has he been asked what their criteria will be, in order to restart? Will it be based only on current tests? Will it be based on ability to minimize further transmission, and isolate players from each other between games? Would they increase the number of germ-hosting basketballs? What guarantees or numbers are they looking for to restart?
I sense they only restart it when they have confidence that the risk of transmission is as close to zero as possible. The risk that someone else will independently contract it and test positive, during the playoffs, may be too much to restart. I mean, what are they gonna do, start and stop and start and stop again? It is just too contagious, with no vaccine within the next 6-9 months.

While I agree with the concept of doing everything not to spread the virus.
Isn't it much safer for NBA players who have all been tested to play in empty arenas than it is for Joe Scmoe to go to work at Costco.

RE: Grizz Playoff chances
Grizz are currently up 3.5 games on the next closest 3 teams.
I'm hoping the NBA lifts their suspension after 30 days and simply decides to shorten their season to whatever games are remaining..
The only real NBA playoff race is really ours, everything else is just for seeding/draft purposes. Golden State is going to come out great in this draft. Too bad we didn't get this year's pick with Iggy.
I doubt the players and fans want to see this season stretch out longer than it already does. It will interfere with the draft, summer leagues, summer sports, vacations, etc, not to mention having to book the venues as BigTigerMike mentioned.
Only thing that makes sense to me now is after 30 days, finish up whatever games remain on the schedules and stay on track with the post season etc.
If this is in fact the way it plays out Memphis will play the Lakers, likely get trounced and convey their draft pick.
All in all a very successful season no matter what the NBA chooses to do.

IF they resume play then shortening the post season is the best move. It’s too damn long already and it will bring back a more competitive/interesting setup.

Postseason length is fine. If anything the regular season is a tad too long.

I agree, you already have stars sitting out regular season games for "maintenance" (read that the regular season is too long)
Does it actually take 82 games to determine playoff seeding?
This season almost 90% of the postseason matchups are essentially set after 62 games.
As usual though it's all about the money. If they do shorten the regular season expect a truly great playoffs as the players will be more rested.

IMO two months is too long for any playoff model.

RE: Grizz Playoff chances
They won’t shorten the playoffs because of $$$ and especially in this situation that after it’s all clear to get back playing that the hunger for sports will pack the arenas and TV sets. There are a lot people that don’t pay attention to regular season much but will doing playoffs
