I don’t hate Zion and think he will be good but it’s embarrassing how the network and other media outlets that invested in Zion is trying to convinced others to lift Zion up
Well Zion is pretty awesome averaging 23 ppg and is pretty consistent at that. His team is also playing well. I suspect Zion is going to be rookie of the month for February. Probably will be Ja but Zion if he stays healthy will be a superstar...as will Ja.
“And now the only reason we’re talking about him (Ja Morant) is because we’re comparing him to Zion” ~ Stephen A. Smith.....Feb 19, 2020
That’s so disrespectful
The officials are trying to give NO the game tonight. Zion has shot more free throws than the Lakers. He commits a offensive foulf on almost every drive
1. Luka Doncic
2. Zion Williamson
3. Jayson Tatum
4. Ben Simmons
5. Karl-Anthony Towns
6. Donovan Mitchell
7. Ja Morant
8. Trae Young
17. Jaren Jackson

This is all so damn manufactured.
I'm so pissed at the NCAA, IARP and NBA.
One of these days, when we as a city can win a national ship, it'll be worth it.
I mean Zion did average 25 points during the month so he is more than deserving of it. It's not like Zion played 4 games and was named rookie of the month.

Zion will be a superstar but only if he remains healthy which is still going to suspect. He also is like Ja in that he is a very likable guy. I just don't know if I could push him to #2 on that list until he's been injury free for a season.

ESPN+ article with a little bit of dumb stuff. Doesn't give Ja much credit for our success.
Quote:Pelton: Morant was one of our biggest top 25 under 25 sources of disagreement, as, much to the consternation of Grizzlies fans, I had him 12th on my ballot.
I'd say I probably lean a bit more toward proven production than peak upside in my assessments, and while Morant has shown his floor is remarkably high for a rookie point guard, much of his efficiency has been built on 37% 3-point shooting that might not be sustainable in the short term. (Morant shot just 36% from the shorter NCAA 3-point line last season.)
Additionally, I think he's probably getting a bit too much credit for Memphis' success when advanced statistics (both box score and lineup-based) show the Grizzlies have exceeded expectations largely because of their strong bench -- more on one of those contributors to come.

Zion is a great talent but to list Morant that low is just idiotic.
Granted we have a strong bench but he obviously hasn't watched us because he doesn't have a clue about "Mr. 4th quarter". It doesn't show up in the box score.
I'm not much on collecting cards anymore and this doesn't appear to be a highly desirable issue, but this is perhaps the most iconic still I've seen from Jas rookie campaign. Heck I bought me one for my sports den. It is likely the most memorable still image of Ja this year.
What rookie sees the hoop and decided to literally dunk over Kevin Love? This play sums up Ja in a nutshell.
Im confused, he put Ben Simmons on the list and not Luka? I thought it was a PG list from their rookie season
Luka should shift the list down 1 with Luka in the #1 spot.
Yeah Luka is amazing. I remember so many people disrespecting him prior to his playing in the NBA due to his skin color. He is a triple double machine.

Never seen anyone cite his skin color. I've seen skepticism over international league play.
Doesn't matter anymore. Luka has made most of his pre-draft detractors look foolish just like Ja has.
Ja got a similar type criticism coming from a "small school"
Here is a brief highlight reel from this season. The Brooklyn Nets game and the last second block on Kyrie Irving was when I knew without a doubt Ja was going to be a star in the NBA.
