I guess it's just the WR's
wow they really got thrown under the bus today!! Pilot article places the blame on WR's and sometimes OL, but SS is playing good on all his reads and playing real hard.

As I said, each unit should share some blame (have not read the story)

I guess it's just the WR's
He says there being conservative and playing field position but he runs a delayed qb run on 4th and 1 from our 30 with a lead. More bs sprouted from Bobby's mouth.

RE: I guess it's just the WR's
The local media are being led into the fire with Wilder. Good way to trash the fan base and slow money flow for years to come. We're in this position because of our coach not because of what fans think.

RE: I guess it's just the WR's
The article is mostly about BW's perception, not Ed Miller's analysis.
Predictably, the QB position can do no wrong, and the play calls are correct (so the coaches can do no wrong).
As noted, there were references to the WRs and the OL.
He further threw players under the bus indirectly with these comments:
Quote:What’s the fix? For starters, Wilder said the Monarchs may not play as many players this week. A rotation of 24 or so could be cut significantly.
“We’ve been working a lot of different personnel groups and packages because we’re trying to grow all these young players,” he said. “The point I made to them and (offensive coordinator) Brian Scott is that’s not going to be the case. We’re just going to play the guys who produce in practice.”
Blame the players, other coaches, and implicate the fans. More of the same type of rhetoric that we have become accustomed to over the years.
Where is the opening statement of "We (or I) have to coach better" that you hear from so many successful coaches after a tumultuous period?
smh

Recruiting and play calling has been getting called out for years.
Funny thing is, this team actually exceeds my preseason expectations. I thought we’d be terrible on both sides of the ball and with a fully healthy offense I think they’re capable of winning some games.

yea Gilesfan we know u have been saying this since forever, and very well could be true but as a head Coach u keep that behind closed doors. And to add to that u said if I had 3 and 10 and u had Kumah u would go for it?? 3 or 4of ur receivers have caught 3 down passes for first downs. Stanford lost their whole 1st team offensive line but it's not brought up everyday as an excuse...u work with what u got. if they are not getting open ur job is to design plays that they will be successful in.

So as much as we hear about missing Kumah, do we know what is wrong with him? They specifically stated LaLa has a hip pointer, but hopefully returns soon. Nothing on Kumah other than he's hurt and isn't expected to play Saturday.

Yes indeed.
It is nice to see a defense that can tackle, has positional discipline, and will make adjustments.
The D far better than I thought it would be.

My bad. Thanks. Reading comprehension is suffering as I get older I guess. lol
According to a quick internet search a hip pointer takes 1 to 3 weeks to heal. This will be the third week he's out, correct?

this. it's the coaches job to put their players in the best position to be successful., not make excuses. besides, they are the ones that recruited these players. they recruit wrs every year but they're relying on a grad transfer and a former walk-on to save them???

This would be week 3, yes, but I want to say when Cox had one 2(?) years ago he was out more like 5 weeks...but age affects my memory, not my reading comprehension, so don't quote that as Gospel.
