RE: VB in conference play
Rice dominates late to win the 2nd set 25 - 19. Nicole with 13 kills (only 2 attack errors), 1 block and 9 digs (but 2 service errors). Anota with an uncharacteristically inefficient match so far-- 5 kills and 5 hit errors. Ellie contributing big time again-- already has 6 kills vs. only one attack error. Way too many errors again this game has kept FAU close in both sets. 34 kills for us, but 18 attack errors. We also have 4 service errors. Need to clean up if we hope to beat WKU.

25-13 match. Sweep.
Nicole 15 kills, 13 digs, .324 hit%
Ellie and Anota each with 8 kills.
Lee Ann with 19 digs.
Martinez with 25 assists.
Pretty easy after the first 1 1/2 sets against a solid FAU squad. Our defense held them to a .078 hit%.

Should be a fun match Sunday (and the first half of another doubleheader with men's basketball). It's going to be an emotional match with one of the best groups of seniors in Rice VB history. They deserve another full(ish) house.

Could be another night of upsets in volleyball. Villanova sweeps #9 Creighton. Also, Ohio State (13-12 overall) upsets #4 Wisconsin in 4, handing the Badgers their first Big Ten loss.

In the end, yes, but aside from Nicole, we were awfully sloppy and inefficient-- with way to many attack errors-- the first 1 1/2 sets.

RE: VB in conference play
FAU served really well and was very quick keeping quite a few rallies alive but with little depth they began to make more mistakes and couldn’t put kills away after halfway.
