I like Mick, and I might even consider myself a supporter. But... What team are you celebrating?
I think 2011, 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2019 all are worth celebrating.
Bolded would be ridiculous to celebrate IMO...although they did win a NCAA game in '11, which is better than 9 other years of his tenure here.

2012 will be Mick's most fondly remembered team. 2018 may have been the best but will never erase the stain of the Nevada loss.

I will remember 2018 as his best team. In his thirteen years here I believe he won one outright and shared another regular season title and won 2 conference tourneys.

We've heard from Twitter-verse, the media, even a future Bearcat but I haven't seen any real comments from the current Bearcats themselves.
I would hope they would all say something like, "Great coach, like a dad to me, wish him the best, can't wait to get started with our new head Bearcat and hope to meet the Bruins in tourney finals.... yada yada yada" but the silence is interesting.

They don't have a new coach to look forward to playing for. I don't remember football players saying anything until winter workouts under Fickell's regime. We will hear from the players when the time is right....probably at the banquet or in early summer.

remembers your first press conference, Mick. You said UC would never have to worry about you ever leaving because you finally had your Dream Job. I know money is a great motivating factor but how much is enough? your 2 million plus salary will go further in Cincinnati than your 4 million in los angeles due to taxes/cost of living, etc. I hope Los Angeles doesn't change Sammie and you. Thanks for bringing UC back into the limelight though. I always appreciated what you did at UC. God's blessings on the rest of your life.
Never say never.
This bull**** is frustrating. Why does everyone assume this move is about money. Love him or hate him he gave 13 years to the university which is essentially a lifetime in this age of college sports. I think after 13 years even a "dream job" might become stale. I like (but never loved) Cronin. I am sad to see him go, but I think change is good for all parties involved. I think Cronin saw that as well.
I don't think this was a money move. This was the chance to take a school which is still considered a blueblood by the media and gets a fresh start. Hundreds of coaches change jobs more than once every 13 years and their daughters are not worse off for it. I would have been ecstatic to move to LA in my teens.
last evening, I spoke on the phone with a bearcat booster definitely in the know of things concerning uc athletics. It appears UC was sort of nudging Coach Cronin to move on if he could. I didn't think he needed to move on but I understood how he could enjoy California now. Anyone else surprised about his long time girlfriend in the press conference in LA? Just sayin'

I heard the same thing, but with the added info that the big money guys were lukewarm to Cronin, so Bohn did not act in a vacuum.

Mick's loss of composure and meltdown during the Nevada game is unforgivable. That loss was the turning point in my disdain for the guy. I could 'put up' with him, but I was ready to turn a new page after last year. His Napoleonic Complex has simply been magnified because of that.
