To the point he was close to being fired. Should I bring up his faults and crappy records any time someone brings his name to this board?

The real question is, why do any of you feel an obligation to trash someone just because someone says something positive about them? I posted two times about Keatts at NCSU, and it brought about multiple posts bashing him endlessly.

The first post was actually about Keatts and Brownell when they played each other, and I posted about the segment they were doing talking about their mutual history at UNCW. In that thread, NCSU won at the very end, which brought on the HeManKeattsHatingClub.

The 2nd. post was when NCSU was assured a + .500 season and a top five finish. I posted it because it was stated there was no way they would finish that high. Which again brought out the HeManKeattsHating club.

That's it. Those were the only two posts I initiated about Keatts since he went to NCSU. Yet, look at the non-stop hate spewed multiple times by multiple posters. I just happen to be the one defending against all the non-stop hate. If you want to stop the nonsense, simply ignore the non-negative posts I make about Keatts twice per year. Even when I created a whole new thread to kill the topic, Hoops couldn't stop himself from reviving the hate.

CG- I'm not going to respond here, but the same warning needs to apply.......

It's a message board 82, people post opinions, and if one side of the fence doesn't fly, the other shouldn't either. You have your reasons to be a KK Homer, i have my reasons not to be.

I'm asking about a "warning" and wondering what it would be for?

RE: Update - Former UNCW coaches and players
How about we just post game and career related news about any former UNCW coach or player without positive or negative personal commentary?

Start a new thread - "Why I love/don't love Kevin Keats". In that way we could get this thread back to what it was probably intended - just as solo said.

Update - Former UNCW coaches and players
Ok.

PM’s have been sent.

For the record, any posts moving forward that are deemed to be either aimed directly at or a vague attempt at trolling on this topic will be met with an immediate negative warning percentage. If the offense is great enough the first time or offender persists beyond the warning... a temporary ban will be issued. That includes name calling (yes, a group nickname aimed at poking fun at someone’s opinion counts there).

I like the ideas from Solo and Prof.

If you want to start that Keatts thread, feel free but it needs to be started in our smack forum “Bird Droppings”.

Thanks for understanding everyone, and I apologize I’m just now posting this. I intended to do it this morning but was swamped at work today.

Go Seahawks.

You mean like wins and losses or records? Hmm. Interesting.

Yep. Like that. If it evolves into more from there it’ll be handled.

Apparently Nate Dixon, an assistant on the UMBC staff graduated from UNCW in 1994. I don't think he played basketball here though.

Alex Riley did a nice piece on Matt Fish. Not sure when it was published in the Star News.

Posted on social media yesterday too. Excellent article. I wasn’t around for the Matt Fish days. Sounds like a helluva player and human being in general. Never heard of the alcohol incident that caused him to lose a year of eligibility.

The story behind that is fabulous. We'll have to get together sometime over a beer or two & I'll relate the story to you.
Matt was a good center & a good piano player.

I’ll let you know next time I’m in Wilmington. I’d love to hear it. Having been a history major, I really enjoyed the article considering Fish’s desire to preserve a history of the game most people don’t know or experience. Sounds amazing and I’m gonna look into how to get my hands on that magazine.
