Not trying to be snarky and certainly nothing to be proud of, but we've done it in 5 of the 9 games this year, but I get your point

6 out of 9 to be fair. The 3 times were VT, Marshall, and Charlotte. (0, 3, and 6 points). The remaining scores were 31, 17, 23, 28, 31, and 38.
Overall, FIU's defense is no better than most of the teams we've faced. Though, its strange that they have generally given up points when facing offenses with a pulse outside of UTSA last week.

I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if we struggle to score, but it is a bit of a stretch to infer that we are unable to score more than 14 when we have scored significantly more than that against decent teams in 2 of our last 3 games.

its listed on CUSA.tv, but you'll have to pay for it. The towson game is also supposed to be on there, so I'm just going to pony up and sign up for month-to-month.

Depth chart for this game shows Jake Herslow still playing. I thought he broke his ankle?
Also, I saw #61 Andrew Lawson, 6'3" o line man, playing tight end last weekend. You mean with all the tight ends we have, we need to convert a 305# lineman to play tight end??

They probably thought they needed him for pass blocking.[/b]

The trend in football is to play an extra OL instead of a tight end. Its happening everywhere

FIU Game Thread
A bit off topic but I can’t help but notice that App State is 5-4 and GA Southern is 0-8 as they play each other right now. It appears that growing pains are not exclusive to us.

Both schools also lost to UMass in the past month, they are the Minutemen's only wins on the season.

Thanks for that tidbit! Wasn’t aware. Looking to finish out the season strong with momentum into next year!

Wow! Not one post on this thread since yesterday morning. Guess Basketball has really taken over. Still hoping for an upset.

RE: FIU Game Thread
Just realized that, although ODU at FIU is starting an hour earlier, that the game will be going on at the same time as Notre Dame playing at Miami.
Media interest in Miami : 99 % ND-Canes, 1 % ODU-FIU
Fan interest in Miami- see above.

And people still try to argue that we are a football school. Every year as soon as basketball season starts the football threads die.

RE: FIU Game Thread
FIU 38 - 9.
Watching MT dismantle Charlotte, the big difference is the offensive line. ODU's OL hasn't played well in any game this entire season. I thought they would get better as the season progressed, but they haven't. Add in lack of consistency at QB and LB, and I just haven't seen enough this season to think we will win in Miami. 2 years ago they beat us down there 41 - 12. This game will be equally ugly.

Definitely tired of hearing people who haven’t played a down of football since jv of their sophomore year. People keep talking about how bad the offensive line is, yes they started slow the first two games, and yes they did not play well last game against Charlotte, but to pawn off every loss on them like the majority of y’all do is just idiotic and shows your lack of knowledge for the game. None of y’all take into account bad reads from a freshman quarterback, which are mistakes he will make in an intricate RPO offense. You also don’t take into account the possibility the back hits the wrong hole. The past couple games before Charlotte they were averaging nearly 250 rushing yards against some good defenses. If you watch the offensive line, you will see that there are multiple holes on nearly every plays and some are even gashes that both the QB and RB miss. Please know the position of Offensive line and the basic concepts of plays before commenting on the quality of play and stop blaming all the problems on the offensive line because I promise you that, there are bigger problems on the team than them. Or did you not notice the multiple dropped balls by our “number one” wide receiver or the 30+ points let up by our defense?

RE: FIU Game Thread
I think there is a better than fair chance that FIU will be looking ahead to their big game with FAU next week. It's a perfect trap game, and one we need to take advantage of. I think we can sneak out of Miami with the big W.
