Transitive value?? Probably not, but, injury depleted redskins win a gritty away game, thus ODU will do the same.

I'd rather end this season with a little dignity. We just don't deserve a bowl game this year.
UNT went to a bowl last year with a record of 5-7. They lost the bowl to finish 5-8, but it was worth it as those extra practices surely helped them towards taking over the West this year.
I thought that Wilder said we didn't need extra practice - hence before the season we didn't take all that we could??

You realize this is not what was said, right? Wilder started late because he said he wanted to try to keep guys from getting injured. (rightly or wrongly)

This is totally armcharir quarterbacking from me, because I had no problem with it at the time, but I think that theory was proven horribly wrong.

Without knowing the insides, it seemed to work last year and not work this year. I would assume they return to going hard in camp next year.

RE: FIU Game Thread
Seems to me Wilder amped up practices during the season last year as well. It's impossible to say if the summer camp practices had anything to do with the number of injuries, but when the players ask for more physical practices I have to believe they feel they need it to get game ready. I want to see Wilder get a little tougher with the practices.

Is it possible our guys are so injury prone because they didnt practice hard or put in time in the weight room?

We have much better people training our kids than to let that happen. C'mon. The Redskins went into recent game with 4 of 5 OL out injured. Sometimes, **** happens. Remember, last year hardly anyone hurt here.

All I know is that I really would like to see us win this game. With a win this week and Rice here next week, the game at Empty Sue could all of a sudden get real interesting. I do think we put some points on the board this week, and if our dee plays like it did last week, my 31-17 prediction could turn out to be pretty solid

That would make MTSU basically a bowl game for us, and this is the best case scenario in my opinion. Though without Denzell, Cox, Duhart and Hendricks I'm not expecting anything to go our way at FIU. If we somehow finish with 5 wins I'll be happy for the team as they won't be the ones with the worst record in history. While a bowl is still mathematically possible, realistically, the pride of not being the worst is likely what this team is playing for.

I think if we have any shot of winning it needs to become a stinkfest to end all stinkfests. Not as bad as the Charlotte game, but along those same lines.

Before the season began I'd say this one would be a win.....now not so much.
I don't even know what to predict for the offense, but I think the D will hold them to under 20. IF THE O can put points on the board....maybe a win, but that is a big maybe.

RE: FIU Game Thread
Well, I'm going to go out on a limb and hope it doesn't break. This is the game that a breakthrough happens, including: (1) Lawry cranks it up because he is healthy, (2) we go two weeks in a row without a turnover, (3) the "D" puts in an exceptional performance to let everyone know they are a good squad, (4) SW completes a beautiful long ball, (5) coaches call some non-pedestrian plays on offense, and (6) we don't do anything stupid. Is this too much to ask?

I see a lot of you predicting ODU will score >14 points. Where are these TDs coming from?

RE: FIU Game Thread
I have a feeling that the defense will round the corner before the offense. If the Charlotte game wasn't just a flukey "beat up a fellow cellar dweller" kind of game and we're able to hold FIU to 21 or less, then I'd say we have a chance.
