Not sure: Bond, Groce and (if needed) Nobles at SF. Also Terry Harris is 6' 6" and can play both SG and SF.

If my tally is correct we only have Jackson, Harris and (hopefully) Epps at the two guard positions but have two scholarships to give.

One has to be a PG and I'd guess the other would be a SG.

A late transfer is on the market as a grad eligible player.

The player is from Baton Rouge, La.

Two things come to mind: 1). JT4 is from Baton Rouge 2). Baton Rouge was badly hit by the floods.

After watching the first two games from Nassau, we're in VERY good shape up front.

We'll lose Jones at the end of this season but pickup up Minnie.

I'd believe the available scholarships go to the backcourt.

Purportly had an offer out of Kent St, now will be class of 2017, likely a spring signee.

6'5" 2016 sf Marlo Brown (Southfield Christian, MI.) will take a post-grad year at Redemption Christian Academy (MA.)

NOT relevant to EMU (now):

One of the biggest (negative) surprises of the last couple years:

DeShaun Thrower, Muskegon, a very good prospect of the western part of the state and surprisingly went to Stony Brook.

Had a disappointing career at SB for whatever reason and is now transferring to Ferris State (D-II, GLIAC).

Surprising outcome...

Looking at the top dozen MI h.s. seniors (guards), one more SG Dylan Alderson (Clarkston) off the board - to WI-Milwaukee.

The three left are: Elliot, Jackson Jr. and Hardy.

According to Verbalcommits.com we are recruiting all three.

According to a recruiting site, EMU is involved with Darian Owens-White, PG, River Rouge.

He is a mid-major caliber PG and will probably get a number of offers at that level.

Steve, I hope this River Rouge PG is better than the last one we recruited out of that highschool.

RE: 2016/17/18 Men's Basketball Recruiting
FWIW, I know NOTHING, but I wouldn't be surprised to see us get a MI h.s. guard or two this recruiting season (in addition to Epps).

Murphy knows exactly what he has on campus and what he needs.

No need to wait until March to go JUCO fishing to fill a hole or two on the roster.

I just don't see the need to go JUCO (I did previously - normally one don't want to start too many true frosh).

RE: 2016/17/18 Men's Basketball Recruiting
Hey Steve,

This post is for you. I talked with Tim Bond at the game on Friday. He is a delightful young man. I shared with him that I thought he, Raven Lee and Justin Thompson were the best players in the entire MAC at their respective positions. He just smiled and laughed respectfully. I told him that I believe this team could beat Pitt and SMU if they played hard, to their potential and confidently. He agreed and had another big smile. He said there's a battle between Madray and Steele for the starting center spot. Guess this means Thompson is definitely playing power forward like most of us assumed. Finally I asked him when he has his next break away slam he should rock the cradle with the ball (ala MJ) and dunk it ( Google MJ's dunk at NC with coach Smith comments). He gave me another respectful smile and asked where I usually sit so he could point to me after his next dunk lol. Very impressed with Tim Bond on and off the court. Again credit to coach Murphy for bringing in talented student athletes who seemingly are great young men!
