RE: OT: CUSA board Music thread (what are you listening to right now?)
The Stones had an awesome version of this song on the Global Citizen show tonight on CBS, NBC and ABC. Mick still sounds awesome at 76. You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you get what you need. Remember that.

But the news has all been bad
And the world just seems so sad
I ain’t had much else going on
So I sat down and wrote this song
I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
Giving hugs and shaking hands
It’s a mystery I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there’ll be crowds and there’ll be shows
And there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart
First thing that I’m gonna do
Is slide on in some corner booth
Take the whole damn family out
And buy my buddies all a round
Pay some extra on the tab
Catch a movie, catch a cab
Watch a ballgame from the stands
Probably over wash my hands
I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
Giving hugs and shaking hands
It’s a mystery I suppose
Just how long this thing goes

Giving hugs and shaking hands
It’s a mystery I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there’ll be crowds and there’ll be shows
And there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart
Well there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart
brother....
I'm stealing that for 'another' thread.....that's spot the fok-on!!!!

It took them 3 movie pilots to get things where they wanted to start the series. Show 1m had no real theme song. Dusty Springfield did this theme for the second movie pilot. By the time pilot 3 came around, things rounded into more familiar series territory. So, when the coronabug gives you extra time to watch old series while under quarantine, you discover rare, if somewhat cheesy, things like this. Enjoy, ya'll!
Artist: Dusty Springfield
Show: The Six Million Dollar Man
Song: "Six Million Dollar Man Theme"

RE: OT: CUSA board Music thread (what are you listening to right now?)
Artist: The Statler Brothers
Album: Flowers on the Wall
Song: "Flowers On The Wall"
Written and composed by the group's original tenor, Lew DeWitt
September 1965 Columbia Records
In this June 5, 1989, file photo, The Statler Brothers, from left, Harold Reid, Don Reid, Phil Balsley and Jimmy Fortune, perform at the 23rd annual Music City News Country Awards show in Nashville, Tenn. (AP)
Originally performing gospel music at local churches, the group billed themselves as The Four Star Quartet, and later The Kingsmen. In 1963, when the song "Louie, Louie" by the garage rock band also called The Kingsmen became famous, the group elected to bill themselves as The Statler Brothers. Despite the name, only two members of the group (Don and Harold Reid) were actual brothers and neither had the surname of Statler. The group actually named themselves after a brand of facial tissue they had noticed in a hotel room (they quipped that they could have eventually named themselves “the Kleenex Brothers”). Harold Reid died today.

As a kid I loved their music, and love their comedy stuff as Lester Roadhog Moran and his Cadillac Cowboys...
