Have the original CD and the original Vinyl.
This album kicks Sgt. Peppers' A$$.

Brilliant double album that should have been a triple...

What a great group of musicians these guys were. If you've never seen it please watch The Last Waltz concert movie made by Martin Scorsese in 1978. I have the original soundtrack 4 cd set. A lot of guest musicians (e.g., Clapton, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, etc.) joined them on stage at various times. Here's a cut from the movie...

I always loved the slow crescendo as it builds to the end of the song, swirling Especially late at night...and Donnette is a beautiful woman...

I think the lyrics perfectly and insightfully describe relationships with masterful, succinct clarity:
Barracuda metal slips through our conversation
Shifting from insomnia to chaste acceleration
Peeling out the pages from a book of random lullabies
Sleeping off the chrysalis waking like a butterfly
...In the net...In you get
When you're standing in the light
You can't see the dark alright
You forget...In the net...In you get
You got your ocelot that's eating up your birds
All the empty cages empty just two thirds
I found that magic lamp and now I got my wish
But it's just another pond and I'm just a bigger fish

Singer: Topol
Production: Fiddler On the Roof
Song: "If I Were A Rich Man"
1971
Watched this on a DVD I picked up from the used store for $2 the other night. Had seen "Fiddler on the Roof" long ago when my folks took me to a live theatre production of the play. Amazing film by Normal Jewison, who's a "goy" according to his own description in the special features (he said in the interview included on the DVD if he converted to Judaism, he'd then have to change his name to Norman Christianson). He mentioned when he was originally hired to direct the film version, no one knew he wasn't Jewish, they just assumed he was because of his name. Anyway, here's a good song from among the many in the play/film:
