UT gives the lead away in the ninth. Leadoff walk, sacrifice bunt, wild pitch, grounder to the pitcher with the runner holding at third, followed by another wild pitch to tie the game.

Apparently they changed the game-tying wild pitch to a passed ball. Regardless, Charlotte scored the tying run without a hit.

UT up in the tenth.

UT takes the lead. First two hitters retired, but Hammer hit one out. Lapikas then tripled.

Pitching change. Getting Lapikas home sure would help.

Rockets can't get the insurance run. 6-5 going to the bottom of the tenth.

Rockets hold on for the win. 49ers go 1-2-3 in the tenth.

An ugly win, but any win against a southern team is a good one. UT had four errors, three wild pitches and a passed ball.

Scoreless after one in the series finale at Charlotte. Rockets went 1-2-3 in the first and avoided big damage in the bottom of the inning. With one out there were two walks, followed by ANOTHER error, to load the bases with one out. UT got out of it thanks to a double play.

I know it's early, but the defense needs to get better.

1-0 49ers after six. Leadoff single, followed by a sacrifice bunt attempt where everybody was safe on an error by the pitcher. Then another sacrifice moved the runners up to second and third, followed by a groundout for the RBI. Run was unearned.

Only one hit for UT through six. Time for the bats to get going.

1-0 after seven. Rockets got a runner to third with one out in the top of the seventh but couldn't get him home.

Rockets lead 2-1. Joe Corfman hit a 2-run shot with two out in the eighth.

UT leads 2-1 going to the bottom of the eighth.

Poor defense gets Toledo again. With one out there was a single, followed by a strikeout and another single. On the throw to third the hitter went to second. Then the third baseman made an error that allowed both runners to score. Rockets trail 3-2: Charlotte still hitting.

Rockets go 1-2-3 in the ninth and lose 3-2.

Ended the game with as many errors as hits (3).

Back to the Carolinas next weekend as they go to Greenville, SC for three with Furman.

Live stats seems to have stopped working. One out and nobody on in the UT fourth.
