Call me surprised at all of the: a) the idiocy of only being able to recite as some form of rationale only the rhetorical idiotic statement of “soy filled twinkle leftist; b) the choice of preferring a crook over a “soy”; and c) the inability to formulate anything over that monument to stupid, rhetorical drivel.

Well, after second thought, maybe not surprised, my friend.

lolz —- I can imagine the depth of that as a real comment.

On one side, the position of the candidate being considered in isolation is being crook. On the other, nothing is as important as being “soy filled”, being a “Twinkie”, and being stupidly and shallowly referenced as a “commie”. You should get on tv as a spokesman and symbol for that deep philosophy, my friend.

(11-02-2026 02:36 PM)Gitanole Wrote:  From an interview with Ernie Zuniga, KSAT 12:

[James] Talarico said addressing the rising cost of living is among his top priorities. He supports suspending federal gasoline and diesel taxes and reversing tariffs he believes are driving up prices.

“People here in San Antonio are struggling with the high cost of living,” he said.

Education is another priority, particularly expanding access to quality early childhood programs.

Talarico also believes Texas would benefit from greater political competition.

“My party talks about turning Texas blue. Republicans talk about keeping Texas red. I think the best color for Texas is purple,” he said.

He emphasized the importance of bipartisan cooperation, pointing to legislation he helped pass while serving in the Texas House.

“I’m not interested in just serving Democrats. I’m interested in serving Democrats, independents, and Republicans,” Talarico said.

As the campaign winds down, Talarico is borrowing a familiar motto from “Friday Night Lights.”

“We’re running with clear eyes and full hearts,” he said.

Tell them what they want to hear, pivot and do as all Democrats do. Vote Lockstep along party lines.

His voting record tells the story. Actions >words

Gitanole my Dad used to have a saying and it definitely applies here

You lie to yourself friends and I’ll lie to my friends but let’s not lie to each other.

I’m not a gambler, other than I used to play fantasy football ages ago, but I’m seriously considering opening an account on Polymarket and putting $50 down on Paxton to win. I’d win $176. Pretty darn good ROI.

Don’t see how it’s 76-24 odds in favor of Talafreako right now.

I don’t gamble but I’d put $5k down. Taking candy from a baby.

Went by a polling place in Galveston County and saw only one Talarico sign dozens of Republican including Paxton.

All the black folks I know said they had no incentive to go vote for him

This is MSM trying to determine an outcome

Only a few of my Hispanic cousins said they’d vote for him

People tend to have amnesia about the Texican population. It is the majority here and are family oriented and vote republican

I'll believe Texas goes Blue when I see it. Heck I remember last election the Democrats thought they'd win it & Trump won it double digits. It's all just to put the Republicans on defense.

Heck wasn't it that way in the last midterm too?

Maybe the leftist media like Houston Chronicle and Texas Monthly tried to create a narrative last midterm that the Democrat Senate candidate was a threat to win, but Allred never led Cruz in any credible poll. Same with the 2018 Cruz vs. Beto race. One obscure poll showed Beto leading, but every single poll cited and used in Real Clear Polling's prediction tally had Cruz leading.

I don't think any real polls had Harris or Biden ahead of Trump in Texas in 2020 or 2024.

Texas going blue for senate is pretty much a certainty at this point unless there is a polling error that is not often seen. Unlikely. It's so bad, that at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if that distorted George Bush guy in a wheel chair, Abbott, loses his governship as well.

Abbott is not losing to Gina.

I find it hard to believe that a so called "moderate" voted for Trump, and now wants Democrats to retake Congress, which will only make everyone's life worse.

Abbott may have been a better selection than Paxton.

A moderate would want a balance of power, ESPECIALLY in the face of the most corrupt President in US history. There is a lot of good that Trump did. He could have done far more if he wasn't corrupt and took a Reagan approach by bringing both sides together. He is one of the rare people who could have actually did it. But of course his personal interests are far more important than the country unfortunately. Even if I have to hold my nose to vote for something to counter the corruption, I will.

The people that haven't been here in forever are starting to crawl out of the woodwork.

I wonder why.

All I know is I hope and pray the leftists on here admit they were wrong when the GOP sweeps the statewide races here in Texas. (I'm not holding my breath though.)
