Or maybe, just maybe, he knows what he's talking about. But no, you choose to listen to some guy on social media instead. Also, you yourself said many times during the Biden administration that the president doesn't dictate energy policy, but now you're saying that Trump does since he's in office again. So you don't even believe your own statement from the Biden years. Finally, I suspect the left has told the gas giants to keep prices where they are despite the fact it had dipped somewhat before this past week. And don't get me started on the gas taxes heavily implemented in places like California and New York.
Trump is on social media more than Mr. Global
. Interesting how you just complain about him being on aocial media and not the content of his posts.
Taxes do not change the prices of gas day to day but war in Iran does.
You know what else does? Halting five pipelines either being built or were producing at the time. Biden did that on day one of his presidency. (And yes, gas taxes do have an effect on gas prices, depending on the state, whether you like it or not.)
The 5 pipelines debated as Biden took office…
1. Keystone XL: Halted. On his first day in office (January 20, 2021), President Biden revoked the cross-border presidential permit for the Keystone XL pipeline, leading developer TC Energy to officially terminate the project in June 2021.
2. Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL): Not halted by Biden. The administration allowed the pipeline to continue operating while a court-ordered environmental review was carried out rather than shutting it down.
3. Enbridge Line 3: Not halted. The Biden administration defended federal permits for the replacement Line 3 project in Minnesota.
4. Enbridge Line 5: Not halted. Despite heavy pressure and lawsuits from Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Indigenous tribes to shut down or reroute Line 5, the Biden administration clarified it was not seeking to close the line and later urged a federal appeals court to reconsider a local tribal shutdown order to weigh economic and U.S.–Canada treaty impacts.
5. Mountain Valley Pipeline: Completed/Advanced. The natural gas project later received legislative and administrative backing to complete construction rather than being blocked.
Which 5 are you talking about?
Gas taxes are up to the states. That is 50 different conversations. And whether you like it or not all of those taxes were in place before Trump’s actions affected the price.
