RE: UFL 2026
Multiple outlets reporting the UFL will expand to Oklahoma City in 2028, which will conincide with the opening of a new 10,000 seat stadium.

RE: UFL 2026
I think most anticipate the tenth team to pair with them will likely be the return of the Michigan Panthers, but that remains to be seen.

AlumniFi Field (Detroit City FC of the USL) should be ready by Spring 2027. If Seattle returns in 2027 it's possible Michigan may start then but I would think the UFL would want another West Coast team to go with Seattle.

I could be wrong, but my understanding was that 2028 was the target date for any expansion to happen, and that the goal was basically to add a couple of teams every two years to get to 16 within a decade. I expect next season to be played with eight teams again.

That said, you could always see a team get moved. If that happened to any current team before next year my guess would be Houston, but I honestly think next season will be the same eight teams before they shake anything up again.

I'm watching from home rather than attending tonight, but I'm looking forward to Storm/Kings round 2. I'm tentatively planning to be back in person for the third home game against St. Louis on 4/30.

Quite a game, and an interesting ending last night in Louisville. I like how the UFL does OT. The two defensive fouls rule part of it is...interesting.

Is an obvious way for the league to fix a game. I don’t see the Kings selling out the stadium again, this league is a bad joke. Was looking forward to it but it seems to be the wwe of football. I’m not wasting my time or $ on it. The Kings were poised for success but this league flushed it down the toilet last night. I’m dropping the Kings from my signature, I’m done.

Go Cards & Kings!

Do what you want obviously, but I feel like if this is the general reaction of the fanbase then we'll just be confirming the suspicions of all the haters who have said for years that Louisville isn't a pro sports town. The NFL and College Football have dumb rules too. In fact, the farce that is college sports right now makes the UFL look like the dictionary definition of sanity...but you aren't dropping the Cards from your signature.

I'm all in. If we quit on this team, no one loses but Louisville. I just don't see one odd overtime rule, that Mike Repole came out the next morning and admitted he doesn't like either (which I'm betting means it will change in the off-season) is a reason to just drop a team.

The way I see it, when adversity like this comes we can either prove the Louisville haters right or we can prove them wrong. To me, that's a pretty easy call.

I'm not loyal to the league or the officiating. I'm loyal to Louisville, and if I know this city, I bet I'm not alone.

If this league had an ounce of credibility it would be different. Such a rule would exist if the league wanted to choose winners & losers, it would make it extremely easy. “Hey ref, call defensive fouls on this team & not the other.” 2 penalties & 0 points later they secured the win for the team they want. Is this the WWE or football? I thought this was a football league, apparently I was wrong. I’m not the only one feeling this way, social media shares the same sentiment.

Sometimes when you experiment, you take things too far. You can understand the motivation for the rule. You don't want a series of a bunch of plays in a row where the defense just intentionally grabs rather than give up the score.

And if a league wanted to choose winners and losers, don't you think they'd do it through regulation rules? Here we are three weeks into the season and only one game has even gone to OT...meaning in out of 12 games played this year the rule wasn't in effect *at all* in eleven of them. If that's an attempt to fix games then it's a pathetic one.

And like I said, Repole came out the next morning and said he doesn't like the rule either. I'd say if he doesn't like it, it probably gets changed in the off-season. If that happens, would you admit that's credibility?

I'm not saying teams won't get moved also, but I believe they will expand regardless. Repole seems pretty dead set on his schedule of getting to 16 teams within a decade two at a time. I expect the other team for 2028 to be in Michigan.

I do think Houston is at risk of getting moved. Dallas isn't drawing well either, but that's home base for the league, so I'm more skeptical they throw in the towel there. We'll see about D.C.

DC destroyed Houston. Dallas has a decent team, but their current stadium is kinda out of the way. When they played at the reconfigured Rangers stadium in Arlington, at least they were right in the middle of the Metroplex. My point: If Houston gets moved, it won't bother me. If Dallas gets moved, on the other hand, it'll suck. (And I usually prefer Houston teams over DFW teams; just not in this league. lol)

Can they now give us more localized rosters like we were told that we would have? Does changing that ignorant rule now change their f up? That game should have been declared a draw. Gimmicks won’t make a league successful. I never said they were fixing games, I said the rule would allow them to do so. The officiating in that game was sub par. Numerous delay of games went uncalled on both sides. 2 DB’s going over the back of a WR driving him into the ground isn’t a PI? Redman wanted to challenge a TD catch but was told by the refs that it wouldn’t do any good since the replay guy already reviewed the play, his 1 angle of the catch.

As to one of your earlier points, I think having 2 current successful soccer teams & a long standing AAA baseball franchise shows that this city can support major league sports here. The UFL or the Kings failing won’t change that. Hockey has even done quit well here in the past. We’ve supported 2 pro teams here in the past, in baseball & basketball.

Go Cards!

The Colonels certainly did very well when they were here, but a lot has changed. U of L basketball wasn't yet a true national powerhouse in the 1970s. The Colonels left town when the Cards still had never won the national title and had only been to the final four once or twice.

But we haven't had MLB since 1899, so I'm not sure what you mean there.

I'm not sure if all of the support is as great as you imagine. Lou City has done great as a big fish in a small pond, but Racing is last in the NWSL in attendance by a really, really wide margin. Even the once well-supported Bats by have had declining attendance over roughly the last decade.

Hockey did okay-ish by ECHL standards, but when we stepped up to the highest minor league, the AHL, it moved out of town pretty quickly. The numbers just weren't there. It sounds like they intend to bring the ECHL back in a few years. That's probably a solid move.

As far as the Redman review, I think the initial call was wrong, but I also don't think anything about the replay was conclusive enough to overturn it. I think it was one of those calls that was going to stand either way, and they were trying to warn him in good faith that the evidence had already been reviewed.

As far as the earlier loss, I understand not overturning a game. The rules were what they were at the time. I honestly would have waited until the end of the season to change it myself, but they felt it more urgent I guess.

As far as the localized rosters, the deal was that each team would have first right of refusal to players from specific schools, but I don't want them to take local players just for the sake of being local. I want them to put together the best team they can, and it seems like they made some proactive steps in that direction this past weekend.

Anyway, we're tied for 5th in a league where 4th place is in the playoffs. Let's go!

I alluded to it in an earlier post, but...wow. What a weekend of roster moves. I was at the very first UFL game of the season, and both starting QBs from that game now have new teams.

What moves did the Kings make?

Going back to the Redman review play, by the 2 angles they had it was 100% the right call. Wish they had more angles though, you get more angles on conference networks than what the UFL gives you.

What moves did the Kings make?

Going back to the Redman review play, by the 2 angles they had it was 100% the right call. Wish they had more angles though, you get more angles on conference networks than what the UFL gives you.

Go Cards!

They traded Jason Bean to D.C. for Mike DiLiello, though the plan is to start Chandler Rogers at QB this week against Dallas. They also released Benny Snell and two starting offensive linemen.

They've signed a couple of new OL guys, and they have some guys returning from injury to take Benny's spot on the gameday 43-man roster.

There were some other wild moves including Birmingham trading Matt Corral to Dallas.

RE: UFL 2026
What a win for the Kings in Chandler Rogers' debut as QB1!!! That looked like a whole new, multi-dimensional offense.

The four picks didn't hurt either. Five if you count extra point attempts. Six if not for a roughing the passer on another extra point attempt.

If we beat St. Louis on Thursday night, I believe we'll be in a playoff spot.
