While this is a 25 recruit, the lak of offers, etc. Is similar for transfers.
I would not use Twitter followings as my crystal ball to see everything being done regarding recruiting.
I mean so far twitter has been 100% accurate.

Building relationships for what. He’s not competing against other teams for the recruits half the time. Or course the kids going to take his first and only offer. The minute a better school comes along (if) they do he’s gone. a lot of the Guys he goes after do not get the bigger offers.

Yeah much smaller % than stated - but the point should be taken, the big boys and the FCS are getting destroyed. The Portal isn’t hurting the non-p5 like the doom and gloomers thought.
I don’t even mind Hammock’s approach - go after FCS guys who have played for immediate impact at some spots. I don’t think the big boys like Bama want to raid the MAC for guys. In fact no one does. They have high school kids they might like better.

They only have 85 scholarships with 70 returning, 29/70 is 41%. The walk-ons are NOT signing with Pitt, FL State. Auburn, Texas.....

Their walkons are probably better than many of our scholarship players. Now ask me if I care that a wealthy school that has won a bunch of NCs and still has plenty of 4 and 5 star players on the roster lost some players because their coach finally retired.
Somehow I think Alabama will be fine.

Huskie football related…this was a fun year of the Portal for Hammock.
Bunch of guys who are going to come on and push for time - a few curious things about the roster now…as we know it:
- 7 QBs. Huff *might* be your 8th.
- At DT you are thin after this season. Literally and figuratively. No freshman or transfers and you are going to lose 4 of your top 6 after this season. You would like to see a freshman or so who you are going to grow for a season. I guess we are portal shopping at DT next season.
- WR…battle royale of 14 + (by my count) 5 new guys. Why not. 19 WR…for a team that doesn’t pass that’s wild.
- Probably portal shopping at LB next season too. You *might* not have to if you can get a couple home grown kids to play some.
I didn’t love how Hammock was handling the roster at first, but next season should be good, then 2025 a soft landing and not a crash if Hammock has a QB who can carry over. (Any guy on the roster now who isn’t a transfer. A 2 year starter should help in 2025.). Roster management is going to be more like NCAA the video game than it has ever been. Hammock will need to get some DTs who can play right away next season as he ignored that spot - maybe he will be forward thinking on his spring portal wish list and grab a DT who has some time left.

Any time a QB is a strength of the offense, we've been successful. Imagine if Maddie had started at the beginning of the year in his final season. That's why it's imperative our coaches evaluate correctly. That's why I soured so badly on Kill and Carey. Grady over Harnish. Graham and everybody else over Maddie. I hope Hammock has a solid evaluation process and identifies the guy who will be successful.

Huff for sure. But Maddie was behind Hare...and he should have been. He was only behind Graham for 2 games when Hare went down before they sat Graham he took over. If you recall they moved Maddie to WR after the big year Hare had in 2014. I know people didnt like that but Maddie was one of the best runners on the team.....he needed to be on the field some.

It's a great idea, I don't know how butt hurt Hammock gets about guys in the portal, or guys who leave. Toure got sent to the moon when he hit the portal and came back, Rudolph appears to be back with welcome arms. Maybe it depends on how good you are?
