Mj couldn’t carry Wilt’s jock. Wilt still has 70+ records and he hasn’t played in 40+ years.

Just for starters, Wilt scored 50+ 118 times in his career. Easily the most ever. Mj is second with 31. Wilt averaged 50.4 a game for a season. Along with 26 rebounds.

Wilt was the most Dominant in his Era...

I don't think many would argue with that...But his era doesn't compare well to today.

Yeah, today’s game has 30 something teams with water downed talent and you can’t even touch a guy on defense without a foul being called. Back then you played a hall of famer or 3 every night and there were only about 10 or 12 teams.
Chamberlain might score 60 or 70 a night now and grab 30 rebounds a game. Even then, when you could literally beat the hell out of your opponent all game, the guy never fouled out of a game. In his entire career.

MJ started that.

They widened the lane to try and limit Chamberlain’s dominance. And free throws had to be released behind the free throw line because Wilt could jump from the line and dunk it. Lol. They changed rules to make it harder for Wilt. They changed rules to make it easier for Jordan and stars of his era.

Chamberlain was an athletic wonder when he played...

But a lot of that was who he was playing against. The league is exponentially more athletic and skilled than it was back in the 60s. Not sure how anyone could argue to the contrary.

Heck even in the 80's Bird was considered a physically imposing player...He was 6'9 220

Kevin Durant who everyone sees as slender now is 6'10 and 240.

The league is watered down with too many teams. This was mentioned above. Hell the Celtics and the Knicks of the 60's had almost all starters make the HOF.

When you grew up watching those guys play it's hard to watch the trash ball that the nba has become. I stopped watching when MJ was laying on the floor of the locker room spooning the trophy after the finals. Do you think Wilt would have done that?

didn't they ban dunking at one time, because of Lew Alcindor?

The NBA is going to expand to another two teams in the next 5 years I am willing to bet, Seattle and Vegas...

They used to throw the ball over the backboard on an inbounds play. Wilt would catch it and dunk it. Opponents put up chicken wire above the backboard to prevent this. Wilt was a freak for sure. When he was in the NBA he was the tallest player, the fastest player, the highest jumper and the strongest player. It's a myth that Wilt would dunk it from the free throw line. They did make a change because he would setup several feet behind the free throw line. He had a multitude of post moves, finger rolls, dunks, hook shots, putbacks but his go to move was the turnaround bank shot.

RE: Memphis’ Moussa Cisse Declares For The NBA Draft - bill dazzle - 04-22-2021 04:50 PM

I recall as a wee lad seeing Wilt play (on TV) in the late 1960s and early 1970s (he was nearing the end of his career). One word: dominant.

Actually, many words: skilled, well-rounded, clever, savvy, a winner, etc.

Simply put, Wilt was one of the greatest of all time.

I'm not an advocate or anything MJ.....Penny is my fav. and I think he is/was better than MJ....JMO......But I think the spooning over the trophy was more emotions for the loss of his father.....Didn't care for the MJ antics and loved when Penny entered the league and took his shine......However, I can relate to losing my father, driving back from Memphis to Houston, hugging my girlfriend a ballin like a baby 03-hissyfit.....That was the day after the UCLA home game.......The last time I cried like that was probably when the Dr. spanked my bottom

RE: Memphis’ Moussa Cisse Declares For The NBA Draft - rc0213 - 04-22-2021 05:16 PM

Some regular was on John Hardin's show today.

Their opinion is Cisse most likely will not come back. Of course, everyone has the opinion that Cisse is not ready for the NBA, even this person. But, with Cisse not signing with an agent, it gives Cisse the option to come back to Memphis or another school. Cisse could hope for a late pick, but, no one thinks that is happening.

So, the realistic option is Cisse playing for a college. This person thinks the people around Cisse pushed Cisse to go into transfer portal because, even if Cisse isn't drafted, these "people" around Cisse believe Cisse should have had more touches. And, because of that, they're advising Cisse to transfer to a different school.

Not sure where this person got the info, so, take it with a grain of salt.

Lol...

HOF players are judged based on their era.

The skillsets and athleticism is not even close. You had stiffs in the league back then that the stars were playing against. But I guess keep on believing in the "Golden Age" of basketball.

You can argue that those players would be better with the training and nutrition available to todays players...That is fair...But they didn't have them so I judge them by who they were.

For some everything is always better in the past. The athleticism and skillset in the NBA today is insane.

^^^^^^^

I'm not an advocate or anything MJ.....Penny is my fav. and I think he is/was better than MJ....JMO......But I think the spooning over the trophy was more emotions foe the loss of his father.....Didn't care for the MJ antics and loved when Penny entered the league and took his shine......However, I can relate to losing my father, driving back from Memphis to Houston, hugging my girlfriend a ballin like a baby 03-hissyfit.....That was the day after the UCLA home game.......The last time I cried like that was probably when the Dr. spanked my bottom

Chicago won championships in 91, 92 and 93. The second championship was the spooning year, 92.

Jordan's father, James R. Jordan Sr., was murdered on July 23, 1993.

So they had the threepeat when he lost his father.

This person thinks the people around Cisse pushed Cisse to go into transfer portal because, even if Cisse isn't drafted, these "people" around Cisse believe Cisse should have had more touches. And, because of that, they're advising Cisse to transfer to a different school.

I can promise you if he had more catches he would have gotten more touches.
