Does Houston play at UC now? That’s the only open game that makes sense given both teams are off.

Not sure I want to run that back again, but games are games.

Us or Wichita

Interesting dynamic here. If Houston plays that game and wins today, vs Cincy and vs Memphis, and WSU is only allowed to play at Tulane .... Then WSU and Houston tie in the win percentage column.

Not quite. Here is the breakdown.

The league should just let UH and Wichita play again this week.

Did SMU just set a record for “shortest resumption of basketball activities?”
I’ve got whiplash.

Yup, another reason why I'm not yet ready to crown you guys champs. Still a few ways this could shake out.

BTW: Insane to play 3 road games in 8 days? UH already did that with conference games this season.

That doesn't make it not stupid. Nobody would schedule that on purpose. 4 is out of the question.

And yet the conference chose to do that to their best team. And I'm not saying poor UH. Wouldn't be surprised if they did it to other teams too.

Didn't address the USF game. Why does Memphis think they should get to choose which games to cancel? Is there any rule or precedent for it?

A couple weeks ago, everyone and I mean everyone was on board with moving the schedule around to help the top four teams. They've instead done the opposite right at the finish line.

As for precedent, there is no precedent this year because of covid. The conference has to do whatever they can to do what's best for the conference. Does the conference want one team or possibly four. I think we all know the answer to that. Very disappointed in how this is being handled.

RE precedent, no game this season has been cancelled to allow a team to play someone else. Aresco said that's not happening. There is no conference rule that allows for it.

BUT if it was allowed, it would be more logical for Memphis to play Wichita at Wichita so both bubble teams would have a chance at a quality win. But Memphis doesn't want that because its not to their advantage

More accurately, it's to their disadvantage. Big difference.

Same as Houston not wanting to play Memphis twice. Decision was Houston's, and decision was Memphis' with Wichita.

Let us know the next time Memphis gets the conference any tourney credits. Maybe then they’ll look to help you guys out.

Also Houston needed WSU to lose to Tulane or Temple, or have both those games cancelled and get another game scheduled while winning 3 in a row to be "playing for the AAC Title at home". Right now the AAC title is up to Wichita or the conference (if they do screwy **** to get Houston enough games to overtake WSU)

That will likely happen about the time you guys beat us in football again. Five straight, lol. Extend Dana!

Two can play this silly game, you see.

both your games vs houston werent cancelled..

beat houston the one time and you're in...

It’s gonna take more than just 1 win against Houston.

That WSU game was the bigger loss and really what ends our shot. What would have been better than a late season Q1 opportunity against a team you already waxed and match up well against.

Not getting that game back is one of the worse real-life executive failings ive seen in a while. Not sure why we have a conference office if they cant make no brainers like that happen. Would have been a major national TV draw.
From my understanding...Not getting the WSU game back is Penny's decision. They had a date lined up but it would be 4 road games in a row for Memphis so he said no.

All the smoke is a marketing term.

Gonna need some confirmation of that.. first ive heard of this.

And even if true.. for an exec in charge of maximizing exposure and value of the conference they should be able to make the difficult decision of "postponing" the Memphis-USF game and facilitating a move of Memphis vs WSU to Tuesday.

I confirm it. I heard that from someone in the basketball program.

As for dropping the USF game, that was agreed on not to happen, as well. Aresco said it this past week.

Still havent sniffed a NY6 bowl.

You may want to change your statement to say NY6 bowl win because they played in a NY6 two years ago

It's been quoted by multiple of your fans on here. I don't have a source myself nor do I care enough to run it down. Just stated what has been provided by Memphis fans
