This is old Memorial Stadium at North Dakota (current home: Alerus Center).

The Fritz Pollard Center (100 yd field, 300 m track) is up and running for a few seasons is the building on the right of image. Fundraising for the phase two expansion on that is close to complete and they're close to starting construction there (training and meeting spaces).

A public private partnership is putting in the five story building "Memorial Village" in the foreground. Bottom floor is UND Football coaches spaces; top four floors are "off campus" apartments. There's an enclosed walkway (top of image) connecting the two.

The latest on USF's on campus stadium.

-Opening 2026
-Construction starting in 2024
-35K capacity (think SDSU Snapdragon stadium). Could change slightly.
-Includes a football operations center facility (likely)
-Near under construction IPF
-USF to now get proposals from Design/Construction companies
-Company likely to be selected Sep 6th
-Rendering should come then

USF has been able to get some big schools to agree to come to town due to the ability to play in an NFL stadium in a prime recruiting area. Is it expected the Miami game in 2027 and the Notre Dame game in 2029 will stay at RJS or move to campus? Miami's one thing but I have a hard time envisioning ND playing an AAC school in a 35,000 seat stadium.

ND won't play at a 35K seat stadium...they can easily sell out out the RJS

That's an interesting theory but, ND has never sold out RJS. So, I would put your comment in my "Wishful Thinking Basket". 07-coffee3

It's not the greatest video unless you enjoy quick cuts and being on the edge of motion sickness, but here is a construction progress video on NDSU's new football performance complex. The footage is about a month old and they've made a ton of progress since then. NDSU and Fargo are buying three complete turfs this summer. The first went into the Fargodome last month so we'll finally have straight lines again(lol), the second was just installed outside this practice facility in the big rectangular patch of dirt in the video, and the last will go inside this facility in the next month or two. The building is weathertight now and the inside is being painted.

Originally planned to be built in two phases, fundraising went well enough that they've started phase 2 already. Phase 1(~$38M) is what you see in the video: An outdoor field, the basic IPF building, and a couple small support additions. Phase 2(~$12M) will be a dedicated FB weight room, locker room, and sports medicine facilities. Football also has a very nice set of locker rooms, offices, training rooms, and meeting spaces at the Fargodome, but this gives the FB team a set of facilities as part of their practice spaces. The outdoor turf will be ready in a week, phase 1 will be finished by October, and phase 2 will be finished next spring.

The facility will also be used somewhat by the NDSU soccer, baseball, softball, golf, and throwing teams. NDSU already has a pretty new(2012) dedicated indoor track facility, so there's no need to compromise this facility by putting a track around the field. Speaking of T&F, NDSU is also in the process of completely rebuilding its outdoor T&F facility. The new track surface went in last summer, and the new grandstand, pressbox, and timing suite are going in right now. Next year, work should start on an indoor softball practice facility. It won't cover an entire softball diamond or anything, but it will have dedicated pitching and hitting areas plus a locker room and training/medical spaces.

The following link is a Google Maps satellite view from last summer of almost the entire NDSU sports complex. The Fargodome is at the top of the image. You can see the work that was being done on the outdoor T&F complex for the new track. The new FB IPF is being built in the bottom right where those FB fields are. The new SB facility will be going in just between the softball field and the parking lot labeled NQ. The only NDSU sport facility not in this image is the VB facility to the south in the historic NDSU fieldhouse. And if you zoom out just a little bit, you will see why NDSU might be the easiest DI sports program to get to once your team gets off the plane. 03-wink

Has Notre Dame ever actually played at RJS?

Also, if you don't think Notre Dame vs. USF can sellout RJS, aren't you insulting your own fan base just as much as theirs?

Their two meetings between the schools were both in South Bend. The game currently scheduled for 2029 is set to be in Tampa, with another game in South Bend "set" for 2031.

I live just up the road from the stadium in San Carlos. Me and my golf buddies will be going to either an Aztec game or a Wave game to check things out this year. I really hope that the rest of the development is done quickly. I know the River Park was to be second per the agreement with the city and is being done now, but I really want to see the rest happen as fast as possible. We are turning an eyesore in the valley into a jewel.

Well considering when Wisconsin came to RJS it was a sea of red (not the sea of empty red seats that you usually see at usf home games this time), and when UCF comes to RJS it’s usually a sea of black and gold. I don’t think his claim is that off base.

It's way off base when we field a competitive team. We were selling out RJS with huge numbers of Bulls fans politics got involved and we lost our coach. That was that. 07-coffee3

My hope is that when our new stadium is completed, we don't make the same mistakes. 07-coffee3
