From Jefferson to either one of those clowns. We can do much better

Fact.

RE: Cuccinelli closing on McAuliffe
I stand corrected the race was much closer than I thought (about 6%) and I attribute most of that to the ACA rollout and corresponding lie.
The government shutdown anger will come and go but the Affordable Care Acts success or failure will certainly be center ring for 2014. (I like the Democrats hand)

Best summary I've read so far by Mark Levin;

Quote:WE COULD HAVE WON THIS RACE. FOR THE REASONS I HAVE EXPLAINED HERE AND ON THE AIR, GOP ESTABLISHMENT AND DONORS LEFT THE FIELD. NOW, NOT ONLY THE LIBERALS BUT THE RINO MOUTHPIECES CONTINUE WITH THEIR MANTRA ABOUT THE DEAD TEA PARTY AND THE RINO FUTURE. ABSOLUTELY APPALLING! (And they did not spend even $3 million, that was a phony number.)"”

He also included the text of a tweet by “The Federalist” co-founder Sean Davis, who claimed the RNC spent three times more in the 2009 race than it did this year.

"RT@seanmdav: In 2009, the RNC spent $9M to win VA by 17 points. Looks like it’ll have spent $3M in 2013 to lose by a hair. Dummies," the tweet read.

Democrat Terry McAuliffe was considered to be the favorite in this election by several points, but Cuccinelli regained ground toward the end of the campaign.

In addition to lackluster GOP support, Cuccinelli was heavily outspent and also faced a Libertarian Party candidate who was propped up by a former Obama campaign bundler.

The McAuliffe campaign also ran a robocall that falsely claimed Cuccinelli supported Obamacare and taxpayer-funded abortions.

A post at the National Review Online said Cuccinelli was betrayed by GOP bosses.

"Would another $3 million have swung 50,000 votes? The Republicans, starting with Bill Bolling, who undercut Cuccinelli as unelectable have egg all over their faces," the NRO said.

Breitbart.com said that several establishment Republicans -- including Rep. Eric Cantor's former chief of staff -- actively helped McAuliffe win the election.

Not only did Cuccinelli face Democrats, he also had to deal with some in his own party who would rather lose to Democrats than see conservatives win.

"This was a winnable election," the NRO said.

As of Tuesday morning, only 56,000 votes separated the two candidates. Robert Sarvis, the Libertarian candidate, received 6.5 percent of the vote.

RE: Cuccinelli closing on McAuliffe
Since it's no longer a conflict of interest, Cuccinelli can now go forward with putting McAuliffe in jail for his life insurance scam and the lack of reporting the income in 2008.

1st Governor behind bars while in office...

Eh, it is what it is and was much closer than any poll predicted. So much for polls...

Anyway, I like the way one county voted for improving schools and then, at the same time, voted against funding said improvements.

Only one of those two that should be in jail is Cooch.

I thought Cooch was a lead pipe cinch? That he was going to win by double digits?

And why are you busy packing?

Stay in denial - it helps elect Democrats. Face it, a better Dem would have won huge. The ********* Express is on life support, and America is rejecting the hateful, crazies.

Both were terrible candidates. Well, I hope Terry will do us Virginians proud in Richmond for the next 4 years.

On another note, the AG race is still really tight.

Even a deeply flawed Dem candidate, in an off-off year election, beats Republicans like Cuccinelli. The only question left is whether the Dems can pull off the clean sweep by taking the AG race. Dems control the State Senate in Virginia.

The Dems retained the Mayorship of Houston in a landslide. The Dems took the Mayoralty of NYC for the first time in 20+ years. The Dems took the Mayoralty of Charlotte for the first time in years. The only win for the GOP tonight was in NJ, where a moderate who works with President Obama at-times won re-election.

Meanwhile, Illinois passed marriage equality today! Hawai'i will do so late tonight or early tomorrow.

But there was better news for the GOP in Mobile. A certifiable idiot, Dean Young, lost his bid to become the latest embarrassment to the GOP, losing to a very conservative, but not insane, Bradley Byrne for Alabama's 1st CD

And the tea party seccession initiative in Colorado? Failing miserably even in cherry picked counties.

Corruption pays off, be glad your kind has no shame about themselves. You keep wallowing in that piss, I bet you're loving it.

Honestly,

I don't think the Cooch was extreme enough. He was RINO lite. Just wait til we get a true bona fide on the ticket.

You're a teacher... Can you explain to me what a segmented essay is? I mean, I know what one is, but I don't really know where to start in writing it.

No Luck buddy........

I thought you were asking segmented by my postings. I would guess it's in parts. Segmented. Now here's the scoop on me. I was in the 30's on all sections of the ACT except....................... you guessed it English. I was an SEC recruit when it came to that stuff. It's held me back my whole life.
