Cuccinelli closing on McAuliffe - Jerry Falwell - 10-30-2013 08:14 AM

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/30/virginia-polls_n_4176922.html

Quote:"Quinnipiac's likely electorate had slightly more voters who said they identified with the Republican Party (31 percent) than the Democrats, with 31 percent describing themselves as independent.

That leaves 38% as Democrats, no?

Quote:A new Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday morning found McAuliffe with a 4 percentage point lead (45 to 41 percent) over Cuccinelli among likely voters. Libertarian party candidate Robert Sarvis had 9 percent and 4 percent were undecided. In a release, Quinnipiac pollster Peter Brown characterized the new result as Cuccinelli "nipping at Terry McAuliffe's heels." A previous Quinnipiac survey conducted in mid-October gave the Democrat a slightly larger (7 point) lead.

Thinking this has something to do with Obama trying to sell Terrence in NoVA.

His food stamp purchase card and a vintage bicycle.

So do you think this is the normal narrowing factor in the closing days, or is it a momentum shift that can turn the election of its head?

Normal . Elections almost always close up in the last few days, even if just to move within single digits from double digits..

It's closer than comfortable or the big Dem's wouldn't be showing up.

Still waiting on my $10G's

I think McAuliffe pulls it out, but it is closer than people think. The blacks will not be turning out for him in droves like they did for Obama, but Cuccinelli is a candidate that the media has successfully destroyed, so TMac will pull it out with the soccer mom crowd. I'm thinking something like 48-43-9.

People know Obamacare sucks, and Terrence supports it. Cuccinelli with the upset (especially since the poll favors Dems by 8 points)

Am I going to have to sue to get my $10G's or what?

He's a government leach. You'll have to hand him the $10,000 so he can hand it back to you. That's what he's used to.

RE: Cuccinelli closing on McAuliffe - dawgitall - 11-01-2013 07:43 PM

As is usual it will probably boil down to turn out in Virginia. It all depends on the weight given to party leanings. If the R's turn out slightly higher than the D's there seems to be a 4-6 point lead for the D. If D's turn out in higher numbers the numbers are hitting around 8-15. So who are the motivated voters in the Old Dominion?

A Roanoke College poll shows a 15-point advantage for McAuliffe over Cuccinelli among likely voters with a corresponding partisan makeup of 36 percent Democratic to 27 percent Republican, similar to the Post/Abt-SRBI poll. A poll from Hampton University reports a six-point lead for McAuliffe among likely voters, with a narrow split of 35 percent Democratic and 33 percent Republican likely voter composition, more closely reflecting the Quinnipiac poll.

The one out today had it at 2%. It will depend on the black turnout and the Sarvis vote.

Who's poll? What was the breakdown of R's to D's?

Don't know about the internals. I don't have the technology on me to read the pdf file.
