Tonight Miami gets the "eye" test
With only one game to watch, everyone can make their own judgment as to how Miami stacks up against the other top 25 teams. Unfortunately UNC doesn't provide much competition.

Not that many will be watching Miami vs UNC. Not a slam at the ACC at all, just people will be watching this in all likelihood...

Although, Miami vs UNC may do better than I think if there is the east coast bias is as ingrained as some think it is...

The NFL will outdraw College Football for viewership but the real questions can Miami vs UNC get more eyeballs than the Red Sox and Tigers.

Red Sox/Tigers will draw more viewers than Miami/UNC tonight. The first three games of that series are averaging 6.9 million viewers.

They are going to be below that tonight because of the NFL competition, but even if Red Sox/Tigers lose half that number, they will still have a lot more viewers than the best rated Thursday ESPN game this season (2.6 million for Clemson-NCSU on 9/19).

UNC could very well pull off the upset.

IMO Miami is getting poked in the eye test. An undefeated team losing to a 1-4 team that's winless in conference isn't how you impress people...

To be fair UNC could be 2-3 if they didn't have to play the powerhouse (pre injury/suspensions) from the east. 02-13-banana

"The good teams find ways to win." Is a quote I've always liked when it comes to games like these.

Miami usually plays poorly in Chapel Hill. This was no exception. UNC will save their A game for NC State and Duke. 04-cheers

Hey great win for The U! They showed they could win a tight game.
Top 10 teams should do that.
The lost hurts but UNC looked good on the field and in the stands!
Great atmosphere tonight!
Bigger win for the ACC, the U stayed unbeaten!
Both schools played well, looks good for national audience and recruiting.

Yeah, I was surprised to hear Miami was 1-3 in Chapel Hill since joining the ACC. I hadn't noticed that UNC was pulling that many upsets.

RE: Tonight Miami gets the "eye" test
Turned out to be a very entertaining game. Any game that swings back and forth, is close, and the trailing team has a chance to pull out a win at th end, is a good game in my book.

However, Miami didn't impress me as a Top 10 team and with the loss of two of their stars, I think they'll have trouble hanging around the Top 20.

And the by the way, anyone who didn't watch this game because it was ACC, or they watched MLB or NFL or NHL, aren't college football fans anyways.

The thing that frustrates me is the commentary. We beat Rutgers by 14 and were a "disappointment". A Top10 Miami wins against a UNC team with a losing record by 3 and "It's gut check time" and "the kind of game teams who play for championships find ways of winning." We haven't trailed all year, Miami trailed the entire game until the very last seconds of the 4th quarter. Don't get me wrong, I know the bias isn't against LOUISVILLE directly, but against the fact that we're not in "the club" this year...but it's still frustrating as ****.

The difference between Miami and Louisville is Miami already has a top 25 win(Florida) and 3 more top 25 games potentially(Va Tech, FSU, and then ACC title game).

Also there's a difference between Louisville- who was playing THE game of their season and Miami- who was just playing another game. Also for Bridgewater, it was his one chance to have a Heisman Moment which he didn't do.

You're not in the club because of the schedule. You wouldn't have played a single ranked team all season. Everyone else would have played multiple. For instance, Miami is in line to play 4 (assuming they make it to the ACCCG)

RE: Tonight Miami gets the "eye" test
That's all good and well. Go tell that to A&M, Alabama, Michigan, and Ohio State who all said no to playing us this year. And again, the schedule is irrelevant. Game vs. Game, we looked better than Miami did. Who Miami played last week and who they're going to play next week is irrelevant to the conversation that against UNC they looked like utter crap and beat a bad team by 3 while we beat a marginally good team by 14.

You don't have to keep reminding Louisville fans that our schedule sucks. We get it. Our AD tried to fix it. Hell, ESPN tried to upgrade it. No takers. There's nothing we can do about that. It's hard to change crap at the 25th hour. When this schedule was first being put together, TCU, Boise, WVU, and SDSU were all suppose to be on it. My how times have changed, eh?

What's Carolina? 1-5? 1-6? A Top 10 team doesn't beat a 1-6 team with a last-minute TD.

Miami might be Top 25, but they're not Top 10. Anyone who thinks Miami is back to what they once were (long ago) is clueless.

The schedule though is relevant. All the BCS computers get fed is who teams play. Nobody gives a damn that schools refused to play you. Big deal. Voters and media aren't going to look and say oh we feel so bad for Louisville because they couldn't get better games.

And sorry but Louisville has done nothing this year as impressive as beating Florida. Nothing. Who gives a damn about beating the crap you've beat. It's still crap.

You should see why UNC is 1-5 right now. They've already played

@ South Carolina
@ Georgia Tech
@ Virginia Tech
Miami

So 4 of the first 6 games were either on the road against a good opponent or at home against a top 10 team. UNC has played one of the tougher schedules in the country to start the year. UNC is by far the best 1-win team in the country. Of course that doesn't mean jack. Regarless, the schedule gets easier in the second half and I still expect the team to make a bowl.
