Think about that. According to McGee's postgame, they just told him they've never flown home winners.

Should put some expectations in perspective.

RE: Seniors experience first flight home after a win.
I heard that as well. We had road wins at So Miss and Memphis that the seniors would have experienced, but obviously they then road a bus home. I looked it up, that last win on the road with a flight home would have been UTEP in 2009.

Hopefully they will have lots of flights home as winners this year.

It will be extremely tough. UTSA is very hungry for a win. If we can get some guys healthy (Nelson, Reaves, etc), then I think we have a shot. I consider UTSA to be kind of middle of the pack in CUSA, so this will be a chance to see if we are moving more towards middle of the pack in CUSA or if we're still in the lower tier of CUSA teams.

It broke McGee's heart. He told the players he never wants to have to hear it again!

On the bright side, they can say they have never taken the train home a loser either. Or a boat.

I've had the UTSA game circled as a potential ARGHH!!!! for months now. I was glad they beat UTEP so we wouldn't be their first C-USA win. Hopefully the 3RD QTR defense from the FIU game will show up and play in San Antonio.

Wonder how long of a drive I'd be looking at? I'm guessing anywhere from 8-10 hours.

Try 18 or so.

It ain't UTEP, but it ain't close, either. Texas is a big ole state.

863 miles, so that is probably close.

Took a marching band to the Alamo a couple of years ago.

13 hours and 43 minutes from the 'Ham to San Antonio per Mapquest. Of course, that's just actual driving time.

BTW, it's 30 hours and 12 minutes from UTEP/El Paso to ODU/Norfolk. 03-tired

Good ol' Conference USA.

Detour of topic: This reminds me of my first ever flight. I was a JUCO transfer to UAB, so I was about 20 years old, and we went to North Texas in 1995. We upset North Texas for our first win over a Division I-A opponent.

Good times.

That was our last year before entering D1 ourselves in 1996. Who would have thought then that we would be conference mates by 2013? In what year did they build their new stadium?

South on I-59 to Hammond, LA and then west on I-10 to San Antonio. Simple to say but not short to do.
