When do we get to the easy games against the low ranked teams in our conference?

That was fast. I stepped away for a couple of seconds, and the clock is at zero?

ETA: Yay, Rice victory!

2 different conversations...

Yes they are winning, which certainly beats losing...

but no, we aren't playing like a good team... just like a marginally better one

I hope we figure that out

I think we're 3-0 in conference for the first time since 2001? Something like that.

I can understand some frustration but we are 3-0 with two road conference wins. And I'm sorry New Mexico State will be the worst team we play all year long. If we come back home 5-2, we deserve a big crowd for UTEP.

And I don't understand how some people here are so eager to belittle the coaches and administration but hardly anyone ever calls out our fans (besides me I guess). We need folks in the stands in two weeks!!

Everything was going great until JP jinxed it.

I blame it on him.

Prior to that we were rocking.

This kind of play is why I refuse to travel with this team. Painful even when we win.

What's really "magical" is that the players hang in for the Win despite Bailiff's inability to go for the Kill

It's NOT the team; it's Bailiff and his gawd awful coaching. It's just plain embarrassing. He refuses to let this team build confidence.

Agreed, Bailiff should have allowed the offense to score some insurance. "Not running up the score" could have cost him the game this time. Should not have come down to an onside kick.

And it wasn't poor execution this time. Playcalling kept offense on a tight leash.

Offense needs to figure out how to finish these games. Hung the defense out to dry in the 4th quarter.

That being said, we were up 27-7 at one point and won the damn thing. 3-0 in conference, tied for 1st place in the West.

Again, this team needs to find it's identity and build confidence...and we had the golden opportunity to do just that today when we took over the ball up 27 - 7 with several minutes left in the 3rd quarter. It was time to keep the momentum going and put the game away, while building confidence, a sense of identity and some much needed swagger. Bailiff's (and Reagan's) ultra conservative play calling on offense, and prevent defense (with no pass rush) deprived the team of that boost...and once again almost cost us the game. For all the good he brings to the table, he is an awful game coach.

I think it is difficult for some who grew up watching us in the old SWC and then in the WAC to take alot of satisfaction in barely beating a lowly ranked team with a relatively young program. We need to get over that. A W is a W and it gets us closer to what we aspire to, however slightly. Congratulations to all hands - players and coaches.

ESPN thread on EC-Tulane game is wrong. From what I can tell the score is actually 33-26 EC leading - with Tulane getting ball 2nd.
