as stated in another thread.....
This is one sport FAU does really well in.
"FAU finished 2013 ranked No. 24 in the NCAA poll, won the Sun Belt Tournament Championship and advanced to the Chapel Hill Regional."
(almost knocking off UNC too )

Rice is the cream of the crop. FAU is very good.
FIU has recruited some players over the years. Just haven't had the arms in the rotation. Current class ranked in Top 20 on Perfect Game. Last years class was right around that ranking too, I believe. Just need to see how the rotation ends up.

I think the new additions to the conference will make baseball really enjoyable.
I would also like to continue to apologize to the conference for not having a proper field in Huntington. Appalachian Power Park is a great place to play, but unfortunately, its 51 miles from campus.

DAMN YOU FOR REMINDING ME OF THE SECOND UNC GAME. Literally captivated the entire college baseball nation until 2AM.
Don't sleep on FIU either yall. They were down last year. First time under .500 in 7 years I think.

Rice, Southern Miss, Tulane go the early contenders line.
Dark horses : "Beep-Beep", East Carolina, UAB (I'm hoping that playing most of their home games in the new Regions Park, less than 2 minutes from Bartow Arena, will give them the inspiration to contend for the conference. Sure hope that our city will host a baseball tournament in the near future, Hattiesburg's got next!
I saw an ODU shout out on this thread...Do the Monarchs have skills on the diamond?

I said it was a shot in the dark. New season, new story. Rice, FAU and UTSA all made it to the tourney last season. Also left out UAB who won CUSA 2 years ago

I can't tell if y'all are serious or just trying to "haze the new guys."

No way. Our starting pitching was the only reason we finished 30-27. We lose our Friday and Saturday guys, including Andrew Pierce. I'm not even sure how we are going to finish games out.
Our returning players combined to hit .248 with seven home runs in 1,013 ABs. And only one of the normally-used players was a freshman.
We have a promising freshman catcher but he is, by all accounts, a project. And Berry & Co. have failed miserably when it comes to getting players to reach their potential.
I'm expecting another pretty bad year from the league unless one of the Florida schools steps up.

I would imagine it would be more convenient to fly into Chucktown than Huntington.

MT should be better this year, as we have some arms, finally.
Gotta get a bit more power, plus stop striking out so much.
14 NCAA Regionals and due for another
