At 20k ticket sold with an average price of $20 per ticket, that is only $400k per game. not including parking.
Exactly. Teams would come if we paid them.
It obviously hasn't been in our budget to pay teams to come, up to this point. Maybe it will be in the future, but who knows. Even a 1-and-1 would require paying someone to come here (if we were getting paid to go there). Either that, or we'd be forfeiting a potential pay-day by scheduling a 1-and-1 and even then we'd probably only be able to get mid-tier teams in those games. Either pay up, or we aren't going to see big-time programs in DeKalb. Barely anyone one in College Football takes a risk to go on the road without getting something in return.
Sooo all the money we have made over the years doing Soldier Field games went to what??? We should of been capitalizing off of those huge paydays into bringing good opponents into DeKalb. I wonder how much the pay will be against Northwestern/Arkansas and I'm still hoping for another Soldier Field game or two to help fund for some prime opponents at Huskie Stadium.
It's a public university.. you can find out where the money went if you're so inclined. Considering how quickly are coaches leave though for higher paying jobs, it doesn't appear we're hoarding cash. The state doesn't give us a ton of money compared to a lot of other school's, and our endowment / donor base was basically non-existent until recently, and there were a lot of facilities improvements that needed to be made. It doesn't happen overnight.

I know, I know. I'm just interested in knowing where it all went to. I'm happy the money has been put towards much needed improvements and now that some of those improvements been made, I hope that we can now start storing a little money on the side for future opponents at home.

Here's a thought, during the game make announcements that our Ticket office will be open at the conclusion of Saturday's game for those that need to purchase tickets for the EMU game in two weeks. Nothing like striking while the iron is hot.

Yeah, they should be doing this for sure. Maybe even sell them at a discount.
EDIT: or maybe offer season tickets for the last three games at a discount.

Pay recruiting budgets, travel expenses, coaches salary, etc? This is hands down the most succesful program in the MAC right now. What is there really to question?

Nah, wouldn't want to interfere with giving a game ball to a manager at Best Buy.

These guys are probably a lot like "day-traders". They don't win 'em all, but those that know what they're doing can probably make a nice 2nd income.

Who would've thought that someone holding Huskieland tickets could potentially sell their tickets to 1 game and make up for their entire cost of tickets (give or take a few bucks)?

What kind of mixed up world are we are a part of now where Huskie Stadium tickets are $50 on Stub Hub, but I can buy NW vs. Minn for $8.95 or UW vs. Illness for $20.

Considering that a group discount on Ticketmaster gets you each ticket for $16.25... Just selling the 30 of them or so for $50, he made out with $1000 in PROFIT since he's making about $33 per ticket.
