BCS computer rating system has MT #1 in C-USA
ColleyMatrix is used in the BCS formula. Just found it interesting that this "non-biased" computer ranking has MT #1 in conference & 3 newbies in the top 4.

http://www.colleyrankings.com/currank.html

50. MT
51. ECU
63. UTSA
68. NT
80. Marshall
84. Rice
88. Tulsa
92. Tulane
94. UAB
114. FAU
115. UTEP
118. LT
124. FIU
131. USM (at least they're ahead of #147 USF)

I think if you look at composite rankings, ECU is indeed #1 in the conference. But MTSU has done well.

(And to CUSA'ers who care, its an old Sun Belt joke...don't make nuthin' of it).05-nono

I would concede it to MT or more likely ECU at this point. But it's early and the war in the east will be very intense. I doubt MT comes out on top...I really doubt it.

On FSN.

Still a lot of football to be played. This means nothing right now.

We have the best record in the conference right now. That's why we're ranked higher. Everyone knows those 3 wins don't mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of the season.

A team is as good as the teams it plays. Facts: ECU cleared its bench the 4th quarter against FAU........MTU went overtime to win. Just like some "others" fail to remember MTU will have to win games on field of play and not a computer output based on raw data input.

Yeah, you can play that game all you want. And I agree - rankings don't mean ****. Winning on the road and winning at home are two different things though. We won't know what kind of team we have as far as conference standing is concerned until next Saturday. Can't wait for the Pirates to get to town.

Who, an ECU fan putting down another team and what they have accomplished. Strange. Does ECU finally play a road game this week?

Any team claiming superiority in CUSA this season is premature to say the least. You can't ever compare games and schedules. Things will shake out in the end. There will more than likely be some surprises (some teams higher than you would have thought, and some teams lower). There is no dominant team in CUSA in spite of what some may believe.

Yes because we really had a say when FAU was coming to town....07-coffee3 sorry that vt signed a home and home with us....oddly enough unc was supposed to come to town thos year but looks like its pushed back...my apologies for having games at home for our fans to see. We're away till the 3rd week of oct so save it..

Dude, r2 was putting down MTSU for their victory over FAU by comparing it to ECU's ignoring the fact that one was a home game and one was on the road. Just pointing out to him there is a difference in where you play.

Yeah and I propped up MTSU saying they will be a top competitor in this league most years. So what... where's my recognition for my opinion? 07-coffee3

I think y'all like getting worked up by opinionated, boastful pirate fans. If it bothers you though steer clear of Marv, SJ, R2 and one or two others I'm forgetting. It's like a specific group of y'all get a thrill from arguing with each other.

I don't even read their posts because I know it's some nonsensical/erroneous/over-hyped (mostly the later) statement, but it sucks when I see people casting all ECU posters as villians................................I read y'alls posts because I value outside opinions of our teams, and like to compare them to the opinions of pirate fans.

I respect that. It's just a shame that every time somebody posts something positive about their team they get hit with a "yeah but ECU is better" post from one of those guys. Just let people be excited about their team and this stuff would stop.
