Three schools have recently added football and were lucky enough to have stadiums available.
UTSA has a huge nice dome and is the only Tennant.

Georgia ST has the best and soon maybe the best stadium in the NFL.They also share it with an NFL team and have a ACC school in town.

USA has an open air stadium that is a more appropriate size.
So who has the best stadium situation ?

I think on campus stadiums that are appropriate in size for the fan base of the university are the ones who have it best.

You listed them about how I would rank them. As far as bells and whistles, GaSt and UTSA are above Ladd, plus Ladd has a few administrative problems. There are three redeeming factors though: it's rent-free, it's open air (which is the way it should be), and it's the appropriate size.

Assuming you are asking about those 3 only....................
1) UTSA. Very nice accommodations, convenient, good contract favorable to the school. Size works as they can keep everything in the lower sections for crowds of 35,000 or less; and open the upper levels for big games (like this weekend) for 45-55,000.
2) USA. As mentioned, free, pretty good size for the program; but needs work on amenities, etc.
3) GSU. Probably the nicest facility; but it reminds me too much of Tulane in the Superdome. If there are less than 30,000 there it just has an "empty" feeling about it.

UTSA is by far the answer the OP is looking for. Here's why:

UTSA is able to package their home games at the Alamodome as a "trip to the riverwalk/Alamo" to both their own fans and the visiting team's fans. If you live in or around San Antonio, or you are just visiting SA (especially for the first time) and you want to enjoy the nightlife/restaraunts/tourism/etc, chances are this is where you'll end up anyways.

If they build an on-campus stadium, they would lose this whole crowd all together. UTSA's main campus is at Loop 1604 and I-10, which for those of you not too familiair with SA, is on the outer beltway (Loop 410 is the inner beltway). Its 21 miles from their main campus to the Alamodome/Alamo/Riverwalk. Some (and trust me their fans do) make the argument that being that far away from campus keeps students from attending the games but I disagree. Those students are going to go to the clubs/restaraunts/bars on or around the Riverwalk on Saturday night. Its a "package trip"...go to the game...go downtown...go the the Riverwalk. Their poor student attendance excuse is built around the stadium being too far from campus might apply to certain percentage of the population of students that live on or right around campus and don't have the means to travel downtown. But at a largely commuter school like UTSA, not that many students stick around on the weekend anyways.

GaState, to the best of my knowledge, is already in downtown Atlanta, very near the Georgia Dome.

SoAlabama would be the school, in my opinion, that would benefit the most by building their own stadium. Unlike UTSA, there is nothing like the Riverwalk/Alamo/Downtown driving the crowd to Ladd-Peebles. From what I can tell, its in the middle of a somewhat depressed neighborhood.

Those are three good reasons that USA has a good situation.GA ST is close to the GA Dome not sure of the others.I like what Charlotte is doing on campus first 15k then 23k finally 40k .With an NFL stadium as a second home.

Charlotte's problem is three ACC and one SEC team are very close plus the Panthers.

No one has worse luck than Idaho when it comes to stadiums. First a decent sized and easily expanded one burns.Then the board of education decides on a smaller multi purpose options. Finally recently when a study on how to replace it turns out its a fire hazard. So no roof removal or turning it into BBall arena and indoor practice field. Eighteen million to make it safe another nine eliminating 2k in seats but adding premiun seating.

I have a GaSt. alum coworker who is a season ticket holder, and he was saying just a few hours ago about how even with last week's crowd of about 17,000 it looks empty and how its a detriment. To me, it's kind of like the little boy wearing his daddy's shoes. Hey Panama, how bout a video of tomorrow's 2013 edition of the half time cash drop.

Wont be there unfortunately although my tickets will be used. But I am sure it will be on several news programs. Thanks Cheryl.

The cost of land is a big problem Charlotte spent 45 million for 15k seats. I imagine they already had the land. Tulane and USF have similar situations. Tulane is building its OCS and USF is studying it also UAB is looking to build an OCS .

South owns more than enough land to make an OCS happen.
Whiddon bought up all the land he could while he was running USA.

Ladd is not in a bad neighborhood.
But it is a whole 8 miles from campus.

That doesn't mean much to fans like me (heck, I drive in from Pensacola every Saturday).
But it certainly hurts student turn out.
I remember myself at that age. 8 miles? After I had started drinking?
Might as well be a 100 miles.

South, with all of it's financial assets and holdings, could easily afford a stadium. Tomorrow.
But it would fly in the face of the fiscal conservativeness that has served them so well over the years.
It disappoints me as a fan, but I get it.
