Buffalo to the B1G?
That's what everybody is saying. Also explains the name change from SUNY Buffalo to New York State.
They can play in the Bills Stadium until a new OCS is built and hockey is popular in that area, so they can start a Hockey team with relative ease plus they are an AAU school.

Yes, they are. Also, UAB is going to the ACC and NIU is joining the CFL.

I'd rather they stole Buffalo than a number of other teams.

RE: Buffalo to the B1G?
Buffalo is the only MAC member of the Association of American Universities (AAU) which is pretty much a B1G requirement. (Nebraska almost lost their invite when they lost their AAU membership)

RE: Buffalo to the B1G?
There was a lot of chatter about UConn to the B1G last month.
An interesting idea would be to pair UConn & Buffalo together as a package deal for the B1G. It gets the B1G around the thorny ACC GoR issue while increasing the B1G slice of the East Coast.
The B1G has always taken members from adjacent states which is one problem with UConn since a strip of New York separates them from Pennsylvania.

RE: Buffalo to the B1G?
Why would the Big Ten want Buffalo when they could just as easily take Boston College, Cincinnati, U Conn, West Virginia, Syracuse.......

RE: Buffalo to the B1G?
Scenarios far more feasible than oHIo ever being invited anywhere:
- New York to the Big Ten
- NIU to the Big 12
- UMass to the ACC

One advantage of losing Buffalo is it makes more room for East Coast additions like JMU & Delaware.
Or the TARDledo plan of JMU, Delaware and VCU for 14 all sports with UMass FB-only.
Or.....just stay at 12 in FB, 11 in BB with UMass a FB only for 12. Then down the road when UMass moves on find a 12th replacement (Marshall?).

GoR Issues: BC, Syracuse, West Virginia
Ohio State Issue: Cincinnati
Non-Adjacent State Issue: UConn

I have no idea if it is true or not, but UB has everything except big time athletics.
UB is a B1G university with MAC athletics.
The question would be if they can get 4-star athletes to bypass UofM, OSU, PSU, etc. for Buffalo?

They might not be the most valuable school to add from a recruiting perspective....
A scenario:
B1G: Adds Buffalo/UConn
AAC: Adds UMass
The MAC in this case could go to 14 with Marshall, App State and James Madison....less travel for all 3 than aligning with SBC/CUSA. The ability to play mid week on ESPN would be a boost for recruiting.
The makes the MAC East almost into an Appalachian division with Ohio, Appalachian State, James Madison, Marshall and Kent, Akron, Miami all not far removed from Appalachia.

No but they may get 3 star guys to bypass Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Boston College which which would be enough to win in the B1G.
